Mac, why do you keep quoting the "Folkore" section? All my research has led me to believe that that section is substanially true- RMS' remiscences say, Harvey Newquist's Brain Maker's history says it, Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution say it.. etc. What's wrong with it besides the colloquial and loose way it is written? --Maru (talk) Contribs 18:30, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

It has substantive errors and very poor style. See the article in Lisp machine, which is much better. It is written as some sort of parable, which is a completely unencyclopedic style. I thought it was a quote from the Jargon file, but I didn't find it there. PS I was in the Macsyma group when the first Lisp machines were built at MIT AI, but never had anything to do with either LMI or Symbolics, except of course as an observer. --Macrakis 18:51, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Yes, I know the version in Lisp machine is much better, as I was the one who wrote it... What would you say to copying it over? (And I also know of your credentials- back on Maclisp, I took a look at your user page which mentions all that.) --Maru (talk) Contribs 19:10, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

I was thinking of doing that, but hesitated for three reasons:

1. The LMI parts are intertwined with the Symbolics and MIT parts.
2. I didn't want to create a redundant article.
3. I'm lazy.
