The following is a timeline of acts and failed attempts in Pakistan that can be considered terrorism.

- January 3 Gunmen open fire on Shia Muslims worshipping in an Islamabad mosque, killing 16 people injuring 25.

- May 8 Bus Attack in Karachi kills 11 Frenchmen and two Pakistanis.
- June 14 A powerful car bomb exploded near the heavily guarded US Consulate in Karachi killing 12 people and wounding over 50 others besides tearing apart a portion of the outer wall of the consulate.

- March 2 A power suicide car bomb attack in the high security zone near the US Consulate, Karachi, killed four people including a US diplomat.
- April 6 Allama Hasan Turabi, a Shiite religious scholar, escaped a remote-controlled bomb attack on Abul Hasan Isphani Road in Karachi.
- April 11 Over 50 people, including Sunni scholars, were killed in a bomb explosion at a religious gathering celebrating the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Nishtar Park, Karachi.
- July 14 Allama Hasan Turabi, a Shiite religious scholar, and his 12-year-old nephew died in a suicide attack near his Abbas Town residence. The suicide bomber was later identified as Abdul Karim, a Bangladeshi-speaking, resident of a shantytown in the central city area of Karachi.
