These jutsu are present in both the Naruto manga and its anime adaptation.

[edit] Achiever of Nirvana Fist

• Name: Rakanken, 羅漢拳, literally "Achiever of Nirvana Fist"
• Type: C-rank, Offensive, Short range (0-5m)

Jirobo's signature style of combat, Achiever of Nirvana Fist focuses on simple physical attacks augmented with Jirobo's incredible strength. Using simple palm strikes, shoulder thrusts, knee strikes, and punches, Jirobo can easily defeat an opponent in one or two blows.

[edit] Butterfly Bullet Bombing

• Name: Chōdan Bakugeki, 蝶弾爆撃, literally "Butterfly Bullet Bombing", English "Akimichi Clan Secret Art: Butterfly Bomb Destruction"

This technique is used in combination with the red Akimichi food pill, which burns away all of a ninja's excess fat and converts it into chakra. Because the members of the Akimichi clan tend to be overweight to support their jutsu, this pill can give them 100 times their normal chakra level. To perform the jutsu, the clan member simply channels all their chakra into one hand and punches the enemy, releasing the chakra on contact. In a manner similar to how Tsunade and Sakura Haruno enhance their strength, channeling so much chakra into one hand and releasing it on contact gives the ninja about 100 times their normal strength. The subsequent impact not only produces a sizable crater, but will also likely kill the one on the receiving end.

Naruto creates numerous shadow clones to attack his enemy, which ends with Naruto diving at the target using a burst of chakra. This technique was first used with no name against Gaara when Naruto fought him during the Konoha invasion. Its name was later given in the Second Databook.

• Name: Tsubaki no Mai, 椿の舞, literally "Dance of the Camellia"
• Type: Kekkei genkai, No rank, Offensive, Short range (0-5m)

Kimimaro performs this jutsu by modifying the humerus (upper arm bone) of either his right or left arm to create a short, hiltless bone sword. Since he can increase and compress the density of his bones, he can make the sword harder than steel. He then uses the sword to fight; his style uses quick cuts and thrusts to disable opponents quickly. With Kimimaro's formidable taijutsu skills, he can easily defeat a large number of people very quickly (as evidenced when he disposed of hundreds of Naruto's shadow clones without breaking a sweat). This dance also appears to be the most basic of the techniques related to his kekkei genkai, as it was unable to overcome an intoxicated Rock Lee, while his other techniques were easily capable of this feat.

This is a follow-up to the Dance of the Clematis: Vine. Kimimaro's entire forearm is encased in a giant drill made of bone to attack the trapped victim. The bone is strengthened (through compression and its plaited spiral shape) to become the hardest type of bone the body can produce. The bone resembles a flower, hence the name.

Using his kekkei genkai, Kimimaro can modify and pull out his own spinal column to use as a flexible chainstaff, regrowing a new spine to replace the removed one. The protrusions on the vertebra are modified to make them stronger and sharper.

Kimimaro uses this jutsu to create a mass of razor-sharp bone spikes all over his body. These spines appear to be branches off his preexisting skeletal structure rather than complete new bones. Kimimaro is even able to grow these bones at an extremely rapid rate so they can stab an opponent even as they are growing. He can even use them to block or trap an opponent's strikes. In addition to being an unwelcome surprise for opponents, it makes him basically untouchable at close range.

To perform this dance, Kimimaro grows several long bone blades out of his body for use as weapons. Though he primarily uses two blades grown from the palms of his hands, he also uses several secondary bones grown from his elbows, knees, and shoulders. This dance form is incredibly acrobatic, using spins, charges, and long sweeping slashes to make the strikes more effective and to evade opponents' counterstrikes. Kimimaro can also extend his bones to attack his opponents without having to adjust his own movement, a principle also used in his Dance of the Larch.

The user and his partner spin at a ferocious speed and deliver many powerful beastlike attacks when contact is made with the target. The force of this attack is strong enough to drill through stone. This attack can be done alone, but is less effective.

[edit] Double Wolf Fang

• Name: Garōga, 牙狼牙, literally "Double Wolf Fang", English "Ninja Art of Beast Mimicry: Double Headed Wolf Strike"
• Type: B-rank, Offensive, Mid to long range (5+m)
• Users: Kiba Inuzuka and Akamaru together

After Akamaru uses Dynamic Marking to mark a target, both he and Kiba use Man Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf to become a large, two-headed wolf. The two then perform a much more powerful Double Piercing Fang attack. Like the lesser version, they spin rapidly to attack their target. Unlike the previous version, they move so rapidly that they can't see where they're going, hence the reason for the earlier Dynamic Marking. This move is powerful enough to sever a person in two and even dent a Rashomon gate. Even if they miss, the speed is so great that the air around them can actually cut their opponents.

Such power is not without its drawbacks, however. The strain of spinning at such a speed makes using the attack more than twice impossible. After the second use, both Kiba and Akamaru are practically incapable of fighting.

[edit] Drunken Fist

This unusual style of combat can't be learned or taught. It only occurs naturally, and requires the user to be drunk. Decent skill in some form of combat may also be helpful. Once the former condition is met, the user becomes an unpredictable fighter seemingly unable to discern friend from foe. Lee is particularly talented in this form of combat, hence his sensei's concern whenever he learns that Lee may be exposed to alcohol. The unpredictability combined with Lee's formidable taijutsu skills makes him a force to be reckoned with. Kimimaro Kaguya was only able to hold Lee off by partially activating his cursed seal.

Drunken Fist is based on the 8 Immortals Zui Quan style of Chinese martial arts. In the actual martial art, however, intoxication is not a factor; rather, the 'drunken' movements are used to confuse opponents.

This jutsu is simply a flying jump kick at an enemy. Lee's version tends to be much slower than Guy's, reflecting a difference in skill.

This jutsu involves Akamaru urinating on a target, allowing both him and Kiba Inuzuka to track it by scent. The two practice this in the forest, and Akamaru is accurate enough to hit multiple targets in rapid succession. This is a prerequisite for using Double Wolf Fang, since the speed of the technique makes it impossible for the user to see while using it. Akamaru's urine is apparently caustic, given Sakon's comment that it burned when Akamaru urinated in his eyes.

The eight chakra gates are eight specific points on a person's chakra circulatory system. They limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body. The basis for the idea of the chakra gates comes from the body's limits on the functions within it. This makes the body much weaker, but it keeps the body from expiring too soon. By opening these gates, the user can surpass their own physical limits at the cost of extreme damage to their own bodies. Rock Lee is able to open the first five gates. Guy, who taught Lee the skill, is able to open at least six. Kakashi can open at least one gate, as shown in during Kakashi's one-handed rock climbing where a shot of his brain shows the relevant point activating. The gates and what they release are listed below:

1. Opening (Initial) releases the brain's ability to limit the strain on the muscles, giving the user five times their normal strength.
2. Rest (Heal) releases the brain's limit on the body's stamina, making a battle-worn person become miraculously ready to fight as if the fight had just started.
3. Life is located on the spinal cord, and releases the limit on the nervous system, which makes information travel at a faster rate and creates even more stamina. As a side effect, the user's skin turns red, indicating an increased blood-oxygen level.
4. Pain (Harm / Wound) releases the limit on oxygen intake in the lungs, creating much more oxygen for the body to use.
5. Closing (Limit) releases the limit on the amount of chakra released at one time.
6. Joy (View) removes the limit on how much fat and proteins the intestines can digest, and releases otherwise useless energy resources, giving the user even more power and stamina.
7. Shock (Wonder / Insanity) removes the limit on how fast the body can move, removes wastes from dead skin cells to feces, and gives the body a much cleaner system to work with, producing even more power and stamina.
8. Death opens the final gate located at the heart and uses up all of the body's energy. It makes the heart pump at maximum power and exceeds the power of every other gate. All the energy in every individual cell is used up, giving the user power well above that of any Kage. This "big bang" effect is only temporary, and destroys every muscle in the user's body. Death is assured when opening this gate.

[edit] Eight Trigrams Empty Palm

This jutsu is similar in practice to Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin, but has a specific target rather than a general area. To perform it, the user does a palm thrust at an opponent while expelling a large burst of chakra from their palm. This violently pushes the opponent away. The opponent does not need to be within reach of the user for the attack to be effective.

This jutsu is simply a larger and more powerful version of the Eight Trigram Palms Heavenly Spin.

This jutsu utilizes the chakra control gained through Gentle Fist training to release a huge amount of chakra from the user's chakra points when struck. The released chakra blocks any possible attack. The user then spins themselves rapidly to parry the attack, both creating a shield of chakra around themselves and tossing away any would-be attackers.

[edit] Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms

• Name: Hakke Rokujūyon Shō, 八卦六十四掌, literally "Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms", English "Gentle Fist Art: Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms"

• Users: Hyuga clan

This jutsu closes off sixty-four specific chakra points on an opponent's body, effectively eliminating their ability to use chakra for quite some time and making it quite difficult for them to move. It begins with two heavy strikes, followed by four more, then eight, then sixteen, then thirty-two, and finally sixty-four strikes. Each set of strikes is done at an increasing pace.

With this jutsu, Kimimaro can fire his fingertip bones at an opponent like bullets.

Using his chakra to extend the blades of his trench knives, Asuma attacks his opponent. The chakra can inflict injury even if the blade does not hit.

• Users: Might Guy, Rock Lee

This jutsu requires opening the first chakra gate, giving the user five times their normal strength. Having prepared for the jutsu by unwrapping the bandages on his arms, the user kicks his opponent into the air, and then performs Shadow of the Dancing Leaf. Once he is behind his opponent, he then wraps the arm bandages around them, and grabs them in a bear hug, then piledrives them into the ground while spinning rapidly. The resulting impact will likely kill his opponent, though this has yet to happen due to extenuating circumstances. Because it uses one of the chakra gates, the user is left extremely fatigued, making this jutsu a "double-edged sword." Guy's version involves him uppercutting the opponent, grabbing them (breaking their bones), and slamming them head first into the ground.

The Gentle Fist style of combat aims to damage the body's chakra circulatory system, thus inhibiting an opponent's use of chakra. To do this, the user will forcefully insert a small amount of their own chakra into an opponent's chakra circulatory system, causing the targeted area to rupture or divert flow. Alternatively, or as an added bonus, the same method can be used to damage the opponent's internal organs, to which the chakra circulatory system is closely tied. Even the slightest tap from this style can cause major damage, hence the name. Because the chakra circulatory system is invisible, the Byakugan is required for this style to be used effectively.

Human Bullet Tank is a jutsu passed down in the Akimichi clan. After the user uses Multi-Size Technique to make themselves into a human-sized ball, they tuck their limbs inside their clothes and use chakra to propel themselves into a powerful roll.

Using his quickness and agility, Lee performs a spinning kick to sweep his opponent off their feet.

This jutsu involves a powerful leap forward followed by a spinning kick with both legs in succession, the second kick being aimed lower in case the intended target ducks the first.

Using quickness and agility, the user will do a swift upwards kick at their opponent or at a weapon the opponent is wielding.

This jutsu is basically the same as the Leaf Great Whirlwind, only more damaging.

This jutsu is a set-up attack for a stronger jutsu. It consists of a simple, but very fast, duck followed by a powerful upward kick, which sends the opponent flying. When Guy uses this attack, he covers his foot in chakra to enhance it, making his version C-ranked.

• Name: Shishi Rendan, 獅子連弾, literally "Lion Combo", English TV "Lion's Barrage" (a.k.a. "Barrage of Lions")

• Users: Sasuke Uchiha

This jutsu is a variant of Rock Lee's Front Lotus, which Sasuke develops after using his Sharingan to copy the first part of the move. Because Lee wasn't given the chance to finish the attack, Sasuke makes his own ending to it.

Like Lee, Sasuke gets to the point where he does Shadow of the Dancing Leaf to get behind an airborne opponent. Afterwards, his is different. He starts with a kick to the left side of his opponent (the easiest part to block). From there he does a backhand strike to the face, one straight punch to the gut to send the opponent towards the ground and finishes with a spinning kick that lands his left heel on the center of the opponent just as they both hit the ground. Sasuke tends to use different moves each time he does this technique. Because Sasuke doesn't know how to open his chakra gates, this technique puts much more strain on him than it does on Lee. Additionally, his finish is nowhere near as devastating, though still quite effective, giving his version a lower rank.

[edit] Morning Peacock

• Name: Asa Kujaku, 朝孔雀, literally "Morning Peacock"

• Users: Might Guy

Exclusive to Might Guy, this jutsu uses six of the eight chakra gates to give the user unmatched speed and strength. After the gates are open, Guy will approach his opponent in a somewhat distinctive stance and, once he gets close enough, kick them into the air. He then hits his opponent over and over, causing a peacock-like fan of flaming chakra to develop. Once Guy is finished, his opponent will fall back to the ground, covered in the attack's aura. Unlike Rock Lee's Reverse Lotus, which uses fewer gates and leaves Lee much worse off, Guy is not visibly injured after using the attack.

Using their kekkei genkai to combine their legs at the knees, Sakon kicks an opponent with both his and Ukon's force.

Using their kekkei genkai to combine their arms at the elbows, Sakon punches an opponent with both his and Ukon's force.

• Name: Tsūtenkyaku, 痛天脚, literally "Painful Sky Leg"

This jutsu is simply a kick to the ground. Combined with Tsunade's incredible strength, this kick results in either a gigantic crater or fracture along the ground, and can cause serious damage to the person she is attacking.

The user spins at a ferocious speed and deliver many powerful beastlike attacks when contact is made with the target. This attack can be done with a partner, making it more effective.

• Users: Rock Lee, Might Guy

This jutsu is an advanced and more destructive version of the Front Lotus, which requires that at least three chakra gates be opened (in every instance in which it has been used, five gates are opened). Once enough gates are open, the user launches the target into the air and hits them with one arm and one foot, sending the target crashing into the ground. This is usually fatal due to the speed and power behind the attack. Because so many chakra gates are opened at once, it can only be used once, since the user will likely be unable to stand afterward. Guy's version involves him launching the enemy into the air, spinning like a drill, and delivering a bone-shattering punch.

While the target is airborne, the user jumps in such a way as to appear below the target while following a similar trajectory through the air. Since the victim is airborne, he is in a vulnerable position to a more damaging attack.

Using his Sharingan, Sasuke was able to copy this move when Rock Lee used it on him. Unlike Lee, however, he hasn't had sufficient training to avoid the body strain from using the technique.

As the name suggests, this technique is simply a very quiet method of killing an opponent, usually from behind with a blade. Additionally, because the user is very silent, it cannot be defended against. The user will often slit their opponent's throat, preventing any cry that might give them away. Zabuza was a master of this technique, and was even good enough to track and kill opponents through sound alone.

This jutsu is basically the same as the Human Bullet Tank, but Choji wraps himself in kunai tied to strings to make it more damaging. The kunai also make him move faster since Choji has more traction than in his normal ball form. After the timeskip, Choji can do this without using kunai by growing and hardening his hair in a manner similar to Jiraiya's Needle Guardian jutsu.

Strong Fist is Guy's and Lee's characteristic fighting style, the purpose of which is to cause external damage and break bones. Additionally, they have learned to open the eight chakra gates, allowing them to briefly increase their physical limits in exchange for severe physical damage after the effects have worn off. In fact, the eighth gate is assured to cause death if opened, while the other seven merely cause exponential degrees of physical damage.

Sasuke does not actually use this style, but rather a few specific elements that he copied from Rock Lee using his Sharingan.

This is a very simple jutsu with a very over-dramatized name. All the user does is forcefully plunge their index fingers into their opponent's rectum, usually causing severe constipation among other things. Its rank varies from user to user based on just what they do with it. For example, Kakashi used it to launch Naruto an almost ridiculous distance (perhaps propelling him with chakra). Naruto later figured out the true purpose of the jutsu: it is used in conjunction with a pointed object (usually a kunai) to attack the blind spot of an opponent. When combined with explosive tags, it can even kill an opponent. The technique is similar to a childish prank known as a kancho.

The official name for this technique is "Sennen Goroshi". However, the name is sometimes thought erroneously to be "Sennen Gurushi" (千年苦し), meaning something along the lines of "Thousand Years of Pain". It could be construed that the original fansubbers, when translating the fourth episode, in which the jutsu debuted, heard the name as "Sennen Gurushi".

This jutsu is a copied version of the Akimichi clan's Human Bullet Tank jutsu, the only difference being that the user uses the Leech All Creation: Attack Prevention Technique to fuse with a nearby rock and collect the necessary mass to perform it, instead of creating it themselves. Additionally, using rock powder makes it more damaging, since the resulting human ball is made of a much stronger and heavier material.

This jutsu is essentially a doubled version of Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. Like the former, it closes off the opponent's chakra points. Unlike the former, it closes off twice as many (128) at twice the speed. Alternatively, it can be used to hit a great number of targets very quickly.

In this jutsu, Sasuke grabs a falling opponent by their ankles, wraps his legs around their waist, and drives them head first into the ground, similar to the end of Rock Lee's Front Lotus. Sasuke used the technique twice in the anime without a name; its name was established by the Naruto collectible card game and fighting games for GameCube and PlayStation 2.

This jutsu is a combination of the Eight Trigram Palms Heavenly Spin and the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. In this jutsu, Hinata emits a constant stream of chakra from her palms, creating extremely sharp chakra blades. With her natural flexibility, Hinata can reach any point around her, allowing her to hit any target within her field of vision. While using this jutsu, Hinata moves extremely fast (her movements become a blur), allowing her to hit hundreds of targets with extreme precision, much like the original Sixty-Four Palms jutsu. Additionally, Hinata can control the size of the chakra beams in her palms, allowing her to create larger, arc-shaped chakra beams that spread out across her entire attack range. This creates an "absolute defense" effect similar to that of the Heavenly Spin, though the cutting nature of the chakra prevents any outside force from restricting it.

In this jutsu, Kiba first uses Beast Human Clone to transform Akamaru into a clone of himself. Akamaru then slashes the opponent with his claws while Kiba does the same behind the opponent. Kiba then slashes once more and Akamaru pounces on the opponent. Kiba then flip kicks the opponent into the air and both Kiba and Akamaru cross-slash the airborne opponent.

When using this technique, the speed of the user is comparable to that of the Reverse Lotus. This jutsu allows the user to strike all 361 chakra points of the opponent, paralyzing them with each blow and instantly killing them upon the final hit.

The user performs two punches then launches the enemy into the air with an uppercut and jumps in the air and punches the enemy towards the ground and stamps (then spins) the enemy. This attack had the same actions of Super Shuriken Combo in Naruto: Clash of Ninja and Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 but was changed in the rest of the Naruto: Clash of Ninja series and instead of stamping then spinning the enemy they just stamp the enemy while the first version became stronger and became Iruka and Mizuki's second special as Super Shuriken Combo.

He then rushes behind the opponent again and sweeps them off their feet, upward flip kicking them as he does. He then jumps once more, this time behind the enemy, and punches them into the ground face-first. Finally, he kicks the enemy in the back with his left heel as they land. Sasuke has a ninjutsu variant of this technique known as Striking Wild Flare 2.

This jutsu is an enhancement of the regular Inner Sakura Combo. Sakura performs the same attacks as the original, but is consumed by what appears to be pink chakra that makes the attacks twice as powerful.

Like the original Shuriken Combo, the user punches the enemy two times and uppercuts the enemy, launching them into the air while the user follows them into the air and punches them into the ground then holds them down with giant shuriken and stamps then spins the enemy. In the first two Naruto: Clash of Ninja games, this was the first special of Iruka and Mizuki and was weaker while it was called Shuriken Combo, but in the other Clash of Ninja series, it became stronger with the name Super Shuriken Combo and was the second special of Iruka and Mizuki.

This jutsu is an enhanced version of the Reverse Lotus, and requires the user to open the sixth chakra gate. It begins with the user kicking the opponent into the air, followed with the opening of the sixth gate. Once the sixth gate is open, the user launches themselves into the stunned opponent, constantly attacking them with speed so fast that the naked eye will only see light beams passing through the opponent.
