This is a list of the complement for HMS Hydra (A144)
From September 1981, her ship's company of 120 changed little for a year, notably the addition of wartime medical staff in April 1982. All those marked ‡ were awarded the South Atlantic Medal engraved with the ship's name. Names in italics are officers qualified in Hydrographic surveying.

Commander Campbell was awarded the OBE for his part in the Falklands War (New Year 1983). All officers (above) and ratings (below) marked with an ‡ were awarded the South Atlantic Medal.
(On 28 June 1991, Lieutenant Steve Marshall was awarded the DSC (Distinguished Service Cross) for distinguished service with the Fleet Diving Unit in the Persian Gulf. Midshipman Mike Meacher is now a Royal Navy Chaplain of the Free Church, Lieutenant-Commander Geoff Geraghty a Commodore in the Royal Australian Navy and Lieutenant A T Lucose a Commodore in the Indian Navy).
