The following are planets, star systems, star clusters, moons, and planetoids from the Xenosaga series.

Contents

[edit] Abraxas

Abraxas is a planetary member of the Galaxy Federation that was once the home of Federation counter-terrorist Jan Sauer. It is also where the events of Xenosaga: Pied Piper take place, 100 years prior to Episode I. Abraxas is later renamed "Michtam".

[edit] Ariadne

Ariadne was a sprawling planet with a population of around 500 million humans and home to a Zohar research facility, as well as one of the Zohar Emulators. Immediately before the start of Xenosaga, Commander Cherenkov was ordered, by U-TIC Organization Commander Margulis, to infiltrate Ariadne and take a part in the Zohar Link Experiment. Little is known about the Zohar Link Experiment; however, it resulted in the disappearance of Ariadne, and its eventual transformation into the Cathedral Ship. The Woglinde was dispatched to retrieve the Zohar Emulator from the Ariadne region, but the Cathedral Ship dispatched Gnosis to claim it for the planet-turned-Gnosis.

[edit] Atalya

Atalya is a planetary member of the Galaxy Federation. It was a planet near the Ariadne system and the site of the Woglinde disaster. Atalya is also a heavily frequented hub to the planet of Senir.

[edit] Carioca

Carioca is a planetary member of the Galaxy Federation and is a haven for many buisnesses and university research facillities due to its national-level support programs. Vector's First and Third R&D Divisions each had several facilities on the planet. The KOS-MOS R&D Project under Chief Kevin Winnicot was sationed here. It was also the site of the ill-fated U-TIC assault on the KOS-MOS development lab, which resulted on the KOS-MOS Archetype's "malfunction" and Winnicot's supposed death.

[edit] Fifth Jerusalem

Fifth Jerusalem is the current capital planet of the Galaxy Federation, and seat of the central legislative judicial, and administrative agencies. The headquarters of the S.O.C.E. is also located here. As the name suggests, it is the fifth capital of the Galaxy Federation after Lost Jerusalem. Fifth Jerusalem also encompasses a large administrative space-station in orbit tethered to the planet by a large-scall space elevator. The station serves as a spaceport and as an administration center.

While briefly glimpsed in Episodes I & II, Fifth Jeruselam is the stage for a good portion of the story at the start of Episode III. Shion Uzuki is invited to Fifth Jerusalem by newly-promoted KOS-MOS Project Chief Engineer Allen Ridgeley to witness KOS-MOS appear in a combat demonstration against the Federation's new secret weapon, Ω Res Novae.

[edit] Gedalya

Gedalya is a planetary member of the Galaxy Federation that dispatched a fleet of ships to Second Miltia in order to surround and contain the Kukai Foundation after U-TIC Organization forces enacted an elaborate ploy which involved falsely implicating the Foundation in the destruction of the Federation cruiser Woglinde in order to retrieve the 100 Series Observational Realian prototype MOMO. The fleet deployment came even before the doctored video of the Durandal sinking the Woglinde was shown to the Executive Committee. As Ziggy speculates, there were probably U-TIC officers within both the fleet, the government and the S.O.C.E. who jumped the gun a little bit in order to surround the Kukai Foundation before it arrived at Second Militia and MOMO eluded their grasp on the planet's surface. The incident has led to heightened tensions between Gedalya and Second Miltia. They consider each other enemy states now, despite them both being members of the Federation.

In Episode III, the strange landmass "Rennes-le-Chatâeu" (and later Abel's Ark) appears in close proximity to Gedalyan space. A large portion of the game takes place very close to Gedalya, however the planet itself is not visited at any point.

[edit] Keltia

Keltia is a popular planetary member of the Galaxy Federation and the site of the Seraphim Sisters' latest concert. Captain Mathews was hoping to travel to Keltia to see the Sisters perform live, but his debt prevented him from going.

[edit] Michtam

Michtam is a planetary member of the Galaxy Federation previously known as Abraxas. Michtam is the setting of the Xenosaga: Pied Piper side-story, which stars Federation counterterrorist Jan Sauer (Ziggy). During the game the planet is officially renamed Michtam. In Episode I Dr. Juli Mizrahi mentions to Ziggy just before he leaves to rescue MOMO from the U-TIC Organization that the S.O.C.E. was performing an experiment between Second Miltia and Michtam that was "vital to the future of the human race," and tied to the Zohar Project.

In Episode III, the planet is revealed to have been obliterated by the Gnosis over 15 years beforehand and that Kevin Winnicot was a survivor from Michtam. It is also the birthplace of Ormus and first planet settled by the people of the Immigrant Fleet after they left Lost Jerusalem. It is where "God's relics" where kept, primarily it was where the Zarathustra device was located. Michtam serves as the location for the last quarter of the game where the stories most of the series' cast (over 15 different characters) are resolved.

Michtam is an allusion to Miktam04β, a planet mentioned in the Xenogears Perfect Works encyclopedia. In that continuum, Miktam04β is said to have been destroyed by Deus when it absorbed too much energy from the Zohar, and the Eldridge was sent to rescue surivivors. This event was pivotal in setting the events of the next 10,000 years into motion.

[edit] Lost Jerusalem (Earth)

Lost Jerusalem was the name given to Earth in T.C. 0016. After the Immigrant Fleet left Lost Jerusalem, the planet suddenly vanished. Since the disappearance of Lost Jerusalem, the Galaxy Federation has moved its capital four times. The Ormus cult considers Lost Jerusalem to be a holy place, due to its history with the Zohar. There have been dozens of attempts to discover the ancient human capital. In the Proto Merkabah superfacility, there is a holographic starmap; chaos comments on a large "uncharted" hole where Lost Jerusalem was supposedly located.

A trailer for Episode III shows Shion finding herself on a portion of Lost Jerusalem's land in a ruined temple area.

[edit] Miltia

See Old Miltia.

[edit] Old Miltia

Old Miltia is the original Miltia that was lost in the Abyss in the Miltian Conflict. Old Miltia holds the Original Zohar and Labyrinthos. The U.M.N. gate for Old Miltia is sealed in the Abyss until the Y-Data, which was entrusted to the 100 Series Observational Realian MOMO, is used by Albedo. After the link between Cecily and Cathe and the Zohar is destroyed, the Ω System awakens and destroys Old Miltia from the inside out. Next, the Ω System is completely destroyed with the annihilation of Proto Ω, which leaves the Original Zohar as the only remaining piece of Old Miltia. That, in turn, is sucked up by Abel's Ark.

Miltia was one of the autonomous worlds occupied by the people of the Immigrant Fleet. This was also the homeworld of the Uzuki family before the Miltian Conflict forced them to relocate to Second Miltia.

[edit] Pleroma

Pleroma is a base of the U-TIC Organization, located on a series of asteroids. In Episode I, Margulis uses Pleroma as a prison for the 100 Series Observational Realian, MOMO. An Ormus cathedral is located in the center the asteroid, which is briefly shown in the game. Pleroma is rendered obsolete when Ziggurat 8 manages to infiltrate it and escape with MOMO. With the secrecy of the base compromised by the Galaxy Federation, it is abandoned in Episode II and destroyed by Sellers and Heinlein. Pleroma is also mentioned by Sellers as having been the name of the original immigration ship from Earth. In Gnostic lore, Pleroma refers to a 'divine light' that exists above the physical realm.

[edit] Second Miltia

Second Miltia is the replacement world for Old Miltia. It was terraformed immediately following the Miltian Conflict as a planet for the survivors of Miltia. Second Miltia has its own government that is separate from that of the Galaxy Federation. The U.M.N. Headquarters, Vector's Second R&D Division, and many spaceports dot the skyline of the planet's capital. Shion Uzuki and Jin Uzuki were relocated to the planet after Old Miltia was thrown into the Abyss; Jin still lives there.

[edit] Senir

Senir is a planetary member of the Galaxy Federation and the world that Commander Cherenkov was desperate to get to after the Woglinde incident. There is a U-TIC Organization facility on this planet.

[edit] The Star Cluster

A term that is often used by several main characters throughout the series, referring to the region of space in which the game is set.

[edit] Vartas

Vartas is the star system where the Yuriev Institute is situated, as well as the home of the Federation's Salvator Faction, which is secretly controlled by Dimitri Yuriev himself. It is also where Pierre Ruryk hails from. Ruryk represents this system in the Galaxy Federation Government in Xenosaga I&II for the Nintendo DS.

[edit] Zavarov

Planet Zavarov is planet located near Old Mitlia and is one of the core worlds belonging to the Salvator Faction. It is also the world on which the Yuriev Institute, seen heavily in Episode II, is located. Dr. Juli Mizrahi and her daughter Sakura lived on Zavarov after her separation from Joachim. Sakura was being kept at the Yuriev Institute for treatment of a brain defect.

[edit] Zoar

Zoar is the autonomous planet where the Zoar Incident began, which ultimately led to the Miltian Conflict. Not much is known, except that it was one of the worlds occupied by the people of the Immigrant Fleet.
