List of pipe bands
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A pipe band is a musical ensemble consisting of pipers and drummers. There are many such bands in the world which may be active for ceremonial purposes, recreation, competition or all three. A major way for a band to gain fame is through competition and the World Pipe Band Championships, especially if they are classified as Grade I, the most advanced competition grade. The following is a list of competitive bands that have gained international recognition at the World Championships (and other "Major" competitions in Scotland), including Grade I and Grade II bands.
