This is a list of people notable for four or more marriages. This list is for cases where a person is noted for their serial marriages, and not their polygamy. The list is sorted by number of marriages.

  • Glynn Wolfe. He was married 29 times, and holds the record for serial marriages. His final marriage was to Linda Essex.
  • Linda Essex. She was married 23 times, including a marriage to Glynn Wolfe
  • Wook Kundor. She was married 21 times. At age 104 she married Muhamad Noor Che Musa who was 33 in 2006. He is husband number 21. If her age was confirmed the age difference would be 71 years. [1]

  • Zsa Zsa Gabor. She has been married nine times, the longest union lasting 13 years. She married her divorce lawyer from a previous marriage.

  • Mickey Rooney. He has been married 8 times. The shortest was for 100 days and the longest was over 22 years.
  • Elizabeth Taylor. She has been married 8 times. The shortest was for 8 months and the longest was for 10 years.
  • Artie Shaw, composer and writer (deceased). He had 8 marriages and two children. Among his wives were Ava Gardner, Evelyn Keyes, Kathleen Winsor and Lana Turner.
  • Lana Turner, deceased actress. She married 8 times, twice to Stephen Crane.
  • Stephen Crane (b. Joseph Steven Crane III), Married 8 times to 6 different women (twice to Lana Turner and Helen DeMaree).

  • Jerry Lee Lewis was married 6 times. Dorothy Barton; He married Jane Mitcham, his second wife, 23 days before his divorce from his first wife, was final. On December 12, 1957, Jerry married his second cousin, Myra Gale Brown and divorced in 1970; in 2004 he divorced his sixth wife, Kerrie McCarver.
  • Henry VIII of England was married 6 times; his wives were respectively divorced (Catherine of Aragon), beheaded (Anne Boleyn), died (Jane Seymour), divorced (Anne of Cleves), beheaded (Catherine Howard), outlived her husband (Catherine Parr).
  • Raymond VI of Toulouse. His first wife was Ermessinde, countess of Melgueil (died 1176). His second wife was Beatrix of Béziers (repudiated 1193, one child). His third wife was Bourgogne de Lusignan (repudiated 1196). His fourth wife was Joan, sister of King Richard the Lionhearted of England (died 1199, two children). His fifth wife was a Cypriot princess (divorced 1202). His sixth wife was Leonor, daughter of the king of Aragon, who survived him.
  • Rex Harrison, stage and screen actor, was married 6 times.

  • Charlie Chaplin, actor/director/writer, to Mildred Harris, Lita Grey, Paulette Goddard, and Oona O'Neill.
  • James Brown, American singer, song writier, entertainer and "Godfather of Soul Music". He has been married to Velma Warren (1954-1969), Deidre Jenkins (1971-1981), Adrienne Rodriguez (1984-1986) and Tommy Rae Brown (2002-present). His first two marriages ended in divorce, his third ended in his wife's death and his fourth marriage ended in an annulment, but they've remarried since.
  • Bernie Taupin, lyricist. His marriages have been to Maxine Feibelman (divorced), Toni Lynn Russo (divorced), Stephanie Haymes (divorced) and Heather Lynn Hodgins Kidd (present).
  • Muhammad Ali, retired American boxer. He has been married to four women and has seven daughters and two sons (plus another two sons in extramarital relationships). He has married Sonji Roi (1964-1966), Khalilah 'Belinda' Ali (1967-1977), Veronica Porche Ali (1977-1986) and Yolanda Williams (1986-present).

  • Charles Vidor, director (deceased). He married four times to Doris Warner Vidor, (Frances), Karen Morley and Evelyn Keyes.
  • Martien Carol, actress and sex icon.
  • Cynthia Lennon, best known for her first marriage to John Lennon. Her other three marriages have been to Roberto Bassanini, John Twist and (presently) Noel Charles.
  • Yoko Ono, Japanese artist and musician. Married four times to Toshi Ichiyanagi, twice to Anthony Cox and most famously to John Lennon.
  • Peter Jennings, ABC World News Tonight anchor and journalist (deceased). He had been married to Valerie Godsoe (1960s), Annie Malouf (1970s). From 1979 to 1993, he was married to author Kati Marton, with whom he had two children. He was survived by his fourth wife, Kayce Freed. They married in 1997.
  • Sonny Bono, deceased singer and politician.
  • George Sanders, actor. Second and fourth marriages was to two of the three Gabor sisters, Magda and Zsa Zsa.
