During the history of the United States, many presidential relatives have been noted in the media, often because of their "controversial", "scandalous" or otherwise notable behavior.

  • Barbara and Jenna Bush - his twin daughters
    • Both have been charged with, and pleaded no contest to, various crimes related to underage drinking, including possession of a fraudulent driver's license.
  • Neil Bush - his brother
    • Was on the board of directors of Silverado Savings and Loan during the 1980s, instrumental in causing the Savings and Loan scandals that cost American taxpayers over $1 billion. [1] [2]

  • Lauren Bush - his niece, daughter of Neil Bush. She is a fashion model and a student at Princeton University.
  • Jeb Bush, brother of George W., governor of Florida
  • Noelle Bush - his niece, the daughter of current governor of the State of Florida Jeb Bush, niece of President George W. Bush and the granddaughter of former President George H. W. Bush. Has been arrested multiple times for various drug and alcohol offenses, prescription forgery, and served time in jail in 2002.
  • George P. Bush - his nephew, son of Jeb Bush, broke into his ex-girlfriend's family house and drove circles in their front yard with his car during a fit of rage.[7]
  • John J. Bush - his nephew, son of Jeb Bush.
    • Was caught by the police, literally, with his pants down in a parking lot, having sex with a teen-age girl.[8]
    • Arrested for public drunkenness and resisting arrest down in Texas.[9]
  • John Prescott Ellis - cousin of George W. Bush; called the 2000 presidential election for Bush for Fox News.
  • Chief Judge John Mercer Walker, Jr. - Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, cousin of George H.W. Bush. He was appointed by President George H. W. Bush for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, serving as a judge from 1989 to the present, and since 2000 as the Chief Judge of the Second Circuit.

  • Theodore Roosevelt - cousin
    • 26th President of the United States
  • Tadd Roosevelt nephew of Franklin Roosevelt, son of his much older half-brother, James Roosevelt (Rosy).
    • Tadd was about the same age as Franklin and they attended Harvard at the same time. However Tadd dropped out, moved to New York, and married a Hungarian born prostitute with whom he stayed until her death forty years later. He was disowned by his father and all relations with the family were ended. He never touched the inheritance left from his grandmother's side of the family (the Astors, unrelated to Franklin) and left it all to the Salvation Army upon his death.
