- Republik NightClub, Toronto - one of the newer and popular clubs in Toronto, attracts a large 19+ scene. Republik had its first all-ages event August 1, 2006.
- Sona, Montreal (RIP)- Infamous "rave" style warehouse venue. Notorious for huge lineups in freezing weather, massive over-crowding and a mashed-up crowd. Loved by many all the same.
- Sonar, Vancouver
- Sonic, Toronto Opened April 29, 2006 by the owners of Stereo (Grammy Award Winner David Morales along with his partner local entrepreneur Nevio Persia).
- Stereo in Montreal, Canada, continually voted one of the top afterhours nightclubs in the world, incredible sound system, hence "Stereo".
- System Sound Bar, Toronto- quality basement dance venue with ample seating and an intimate back room. (RIP)

- The Docks, Toronto - one of Toronto's most popular club/rave/concert scenes. Recently, The Docks' alcohol license was revoked from authorities and they are currently fighting to obtain the license once more.

- Beverly Hills Supper Club, Southgate, Kentucky, 1971–1977, elegant dining with light vocal and popular music, burned to the ground on May 28, 1977, killing 165 of more than 2,000 people in attendance.

- CBGB, New York, 1973-present, regarded as the birthplace and center of American punk rock, will close indefinitely in October 2006 due to loss of lease.

- Club Foot, Austin, Texas, 1980s. Large live-music venue featuring punk rock, blues, reggae and many other kinds of music.
- Club Universe, San Francisco, trend setting gay nightclub which existed from 1994 to 2002.
- Club Space, Miami, one of the first clubs in the United States to have an unrestricted liquor license, enabling them to serve liquor far beyond standard closing times.
- Danceteria, New York, 1980s. Frequented by Madonna. Had appearances by avant-garde performance artists such as John Sex.
- Eden Nite Club, Colorado Springs, 2005-Current. Go-Go dancers, five distinct and incredibly detailed rooms featuring unique sounds including house, trance, hip hop, and 80's dance.
- G.G. Knickerbockers, New York, late 1970s--had Go-Go dancers on trapezes with a net under them. Frequented mostly by transsexuals.

- Jackie 60, New York, 1990 - 2000, Pioneered New York's Meat Market, served gay, fetish-dressed, straight, transvestite and poets for a decade.
- Jillian's--a chain of night clubs in many cities.
- Lakeview Broadcasting Company, Chicago, 2005-present, upstart by Stephen Westman and Paul Blair (D.J. Whiteshadow).
- Love (formerly known as "Dream"), Washington, D.C.; known for its enormous warehouse size and frequent hosting of Howard University's homecoming events.
- Lunatarium, Brooklyn, 2001–2004. 18,000 ft² (1,700 m²) warehouse club hosting a variety of events—home to New York's underground art party scene.
- Nation, 1015 Half St. S.E., Washington, D.C. Closed down in July of 2006, Nation, (formerly The Capitol Ballroom), hosted the popular Friday night party Buzz, operated by Buzzlife Productions.
- ONES, 111 Hudson Street, New York, 1973-1983, once voted one of the top nightclubs by Vogue Magazine, had spinning neon lights, booming sound system, and a ladies night that boasted over 2000 attendees.

- Red, Washington, D.C. 1996-2005. The foundation of the DC/MD/VA underground house scene for nearly a decade. Red was known for its high quality music, booming soundsystem, thick vibes and great people.
- Rodney Bingenheimer's English Disco, West Hollywood, early 1970s. Where the glam rock stars and their groupies and admirers came to party when they were in Los Angeles.
- Roxy NYC, New York, former roller skating rink. 1980s–current. Featured in the film Beat Street.
- The Saint, New York, (September 1980–1986). The dance floor was under a planetarium-like dome.

- Citrus - Formerly 'Venezia' and 'V-Bar'. Well hidden, elegantly styled and exclusively intimate, expect celebirties, a ruthless door, the occasional drive-by[1] and to see the sunrise. a mix of acclaimed foreign and local DJ's.
- Embassy - Highly celebrated superclub, world famous DJ's, unique VIP section, a 24 hour cafe and a sideclub called Cuisine, Dramatic architecture and a much hated Door Bitch. house and hip hop.
- Ice Bar - Small and crowded, unspecial save for a clever bar with crushed ice rimming it, providing a cold place to cold your drink and make poorly constructed ice sculptures. hip hop, house.
- Krocodile Grille - Cheap and effective, slow and unmotivate waiters, but a live Crocodile mascot barely makes up for it.
- W - Western-themed grill and bar, rowdy crowd that parties late, a mechanical bull that can be ridden when intoxicated is a major attraction. hip hop.
- Phi Bar - Minimalist styling, and energetic crowd on weekends, abraissive staff. hip hop, house, pop.
- Decades - All white interior, excellent acoustics and modern design, but an unfortunately mongrel crowd. hip hop.
- Fiyama - Largely uninspired design, prompt staff and a superb crowd help overlook the lack of style. house, worl music, hip hop.
- Il Ponticello - Italian Restaurant by day, thumping and somewhat questionable club by night, firetrap conditions and numerous brawls and a shooting dont seem to deter its patrons. hip hop, house.
- Capones - Small and intimate, friendly staff and a homely feel, lots of regulars and a "bulletin board", it can get wild. hip hop, house.
- SaGuijo - A trendy, ecclectic full-size rambling mansion that features live acts and a truly unique experience, reasonalby priced as well as housing a quirky little store where 3 strange girls sell all manner of clever and random things. rock, alternative, jazz, hip hop
- Prince of Jaipur - Bollywood-themed club and fine dining, creative styling and cavernous interior, sadly marred by its poor crowd control and impossible staff. hip hop.
- Pier 1 - Clever or crude use of empty ship containers blocked together and stacked into a structure makes the club unique in its nautical theme, rather disturbing sailor-suits are worn by the staff, boisterous and drunken laughter is always audible, their signature drink "Bangengeg" is basically a mix of everything alcoholic within arms reach of the bartender at the time you order your drink. hip hop.
- Basement - Dark, loud, dungeon-like, moderately priced and an acquired taste. hip hop, rock, house.
- Bed - Breakthrough gay superclub, effective styling and ecclectic crowd. house, hip hop.
- Where Else? - A popular basement-club that was frenquented by the local youth, it closed in the early 2000's. hip hop.
- Mars - A huge club that prospered immensely for a while but imploded in the late 1990's. house, hip hop.
- Giraffe - A legendary and long-running club that was notorious for staying open until past dawn, It closed in the late 1990's. house, hip hop.
- Culture Club - Closed in 2003, it was an influential focus of early hip hop activity in the Philippines during the mid-1990's, known for its notorious "Foam Parties". hip hop.
- Pravda - A chic and pricey vodka bar that attracted Manilas elite for a significant time period until it closed in the early 2000's. house, hip hop.

- Ageha, Tokyo, Japan is a large club with several dance floors, a terrace with a small pool, an outdoor dance tent, on the water front in Shin Kiba, eastern Tokyo. The club is used for live concerts, as well as a nightclub. Madonna, in December, 2005 had her Japan media showcase at Ageha. Ageha recently hosted Deep Dish for an 8-hour set.

- J-Draw, Misawa, Aomori ; Known for being a frequent spot of the (mostly) USAF personnel stationed nearby, and a rather popular nightclub in Northern Japan.
- Lexington Queen, nightclub in Roppongi. A place for washedup celebrites.
- Maniac Love, Tokyo's famous after hour box closed in late 2005 after 15 years.
