List of minor characters on South Park
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The following is a list of minor characters on South Park.
[edit] Bart Simpson
A character resembling Bart Simpson was shown in the animated series South Park. He was unnamed but had a very similar resemblance and was intended to be him. He was voiced by Mona Marshall. The episode he appears in is Cartoon Wars Part II, the final part of a two parter which parodies both Family Guy and the Mohamed cartoon controversy.
Bart resembles the real Bart by having spiky blond hair, orange top, blue shorts and a skateboard. He has the same sort of voice (but not by the same person) but is shorter than his counterpart. It should be noted though that all children in South Park are short and to keep to the animation style he would have to be short. His habits of writing lines with chalk is also shown and his catchphrase "Eat my shorts" is heard. His catchphrase "Cowabunga" is changed to "Cowabunga motherfucker!" which is said when he knocks people out with his skateboard.
At first he hated Family Guy and was in line before Cartman to cancel it. He let Cartman go first after Cartman told him the worst thing he had done: killing Scott Tenorman's parents and making him eat them in Scott Tenorman Must Die. He is later seen when Kyle asks him where the head of FOX's office is and he lies that it is in what's really a shed and Kyle is trapped in a net, watched by the parody of Bart. Kyle was let out after they "had a long talk" and later hit Cartman with his skateboard.
[edit] Blanket
Blanket is the son of Mr. Jefferson, who is clearly Michael Jackson with a fake mustache. Mr. Jefferson makes Blanket hide his face when he goes outside.
[edit] Chickenlover
Chickenlover drives the "Booktastic Bus" and was revealed to have had sex with the chickens as a plot to get Officer Barbrady to read. He has a red afro and wears a strange cape. In the episode Cartoon Wars Part I he was seen in the sports hall where everyone hid from the terrorist threat after Family Guy showed Muhammad. He was naked though and must have been let out of prison.
[edit] Chris
Chris was voiced by Dian Bachar and appeared in the two parter Do the Handicapped Go To Hell?/Probably. Chris was a vegetarian before his death in the year 2000, when he slipped on an escalator. Nothing else is known about him, although he is presumably in his 30s.
While in Hell, Chris developed a relationship with Satan. When Saddam Hussein returned, Satan's love for Saddam dwindled back. Chris tried to be "okay" with it, but was soon killed by Saddam. The next day, he returned to Hell, causing Saddam and Chris to continuously kill each other. Satan then followed some advice from God and decided he didn't want to be with Chris or Saddam.
[edit] Crab People
All the history that is known about Crab People is that they were banished a thousand years ago by man during the Kindling Wars, to an underground cavern. The Crab People then realized if they could not beat man, they should change man. The Metrosexual fad was the Crab People's second attempt to change man; their first attempt was The Jeffersons.
Since "South Park is Gay!" the Crab People have been mentioned twice, once in "Quest for Ratings", and again in "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow". In "Quest For Ratings", the boys tried to come up with a show and Cartman suggested a show about Crab People. Stan replied that they could think of better ideas than Crab People. In "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow", the Crab People were blamed for the Beaverton Flood, which was actually caused by Stan and Cartman crashing a stolen boat into the beaver dam, flooding the town.
[edit] Damien
Damien is the son of Satan, and claims to be from the seventh level of hell. Damien has bizarre powers which include summoning shadow demons and launching size-varying fireballs from his fingertips. He appears to be based on Damien Thorn from The Omen. Whenever he speaks, voices speaking in Latin play in the background. They are saying "Rectus... Dominus... Cheesy Poofs..." ("Rectus Dominus" is cod Latin for "Ass Master" which is an often used insult on the show, and Cheesy Poofs is Cartman's favorite snack)
In what is currently his only speaking appearance, Damien comes to the boys' class in the episode Damien (South Park episode). He claims to be the son of Satan, which is completely ignored by Mr. Garrison, despite his obvious evil powers. After turning Kenny into a duck-billed platypus, he then demands to speak to Jesus. After Jesus beats Satan in a rigged boxing match, Damien returns to Hell alongside his father, claiming that he only does his evil because he has to. Subsequently, Damien has appeared in the background of various episodes, and was seen in the movie theater with various South Park children watching Asses of Fire in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. He was also seen auditioning to be the kids' new fourth friend in Professor Chaos.
[edit] Farmer Carl Denkins
Denkins is a farmer, who lives just outside South Park. He shot and killed Scott Tenorman's parents for trespassing on his property in "Scott Tenorman Must Die". In the episode "Fun with Veal", he was known as Rancher Bob. In earlier episodes, his chicken fell prey to the chicken lover, his cows were mutilated by aliens and performed a mass suicide.
[edit] Gobbles
Gobbles is the pet turkey of Timmy. Upon getting Gobbles, Timmy has the ability to scream his name too (pronounced somewhat like "Gobbers!"). In kind with his master, Gobbles is also "physically challenged", with his head dragging on the floor as he walks. Gobbles got his fifteen minutes of fame in episode 414: Helen Keller! The Musical when he got the part of Helen Keller's pet turkey, alongside Timmy as Keller, in a play produced by Eric Cartman. Cartman then sets about trying to get the turkey killed, so that he can have a turkey which can "jump through a ring of fire" as Keller's pet. But, as usual in South Park, Cartman's plan doesn't work. However, the trick performing turkey's trainer tricks Timmy into releasing Gobbles. After discovering that he was deceived, Timmy finds Gobbles and saves him by taking a bullet fired at the turkey by Stan Marsh's ultra-hunter uncle, Jimbo. Timmy then gets Jimbo and his friends to kill the trained turkey, named Anastasia, allowing Gobbles to go onstage and surprise everyone by leaping (although somewhat clumsily) through the ring of fire, to rabid applause by the audience.
[edit] God
Though God is usually depicted by a deep voice and white light coming from above, His rarely seen True Form appears as a hybrid of a monkey, cat, and a hippopotamus, with a reptilian tongue used to catch flies. God can be summoned in Heaven whenever someone says His Name, and sometimes responds to people on Earth, like His Son Jesus. God himself is a Buddhist, though only Mormons were allowed to enter Heaven. Eventually the population of Heaven was dwindling and therefore God allowed others, including Kenny, to enter Heaven. He is not hesitant to swear or use his or Jesus's name in vain. He is willing to answer any one question once every 2000 years.
[edit] Gregory of Yardale
Gregory of Yardale appears only in the movie. He claims a 4.0 GPA and is described by Wendy as "political", being the one to lead protests against the American-Canadian war and the execution of Terrance and Philip. Unlike Stan, though, he doesn't do anything beyond that, and doesn't even try until he learns of La Resistance.
[edit] Halfy
Halfy (Pronounced Half-ee) has no legs and appears in various old episodes. He's been in Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut when he was the only one who hadn't had sex with Mrs. Cartman to which the Mr. Garison replied "You don't count, Halfy; you don't have any legs". He also appeared in Chickenlover in which he said he'd fuck chickens. Priest Maxi replied by saying consider people's feelings. When he is happy, Halfy dives into the air and somersaults. Halfy appears to be a low life and is seen in the bar usually, he is presumably a tramp. It is also unknown where he lost his legs.
[edit] Harrison Family
The Harrisons are a fictional family in the animated series South Park. They are devout Mormons who constantly engage in family activities. One of the sons, Gary (who is 9) joined the 4th grade class and became instantly unpopular. Stan was then made to kick his ass but wound up having dinner round his house that night. After Stan returns home traumatized from his new understanding of other religions and wanting to have family nights Randy (Stan's dad) goes after them. He instantly becomes "sucked in" to their way of thinking. In the end the family becomes Mormon until Stan becomes wound up and chucks them out complaining about how "nice" they are. Later at the bus stop, Gary turns up and tells Stan he's got a lot of growing up to do if he can't be someone's friend because of their religion. Apart from Gary there are three other children, the youngest is the daughter who is a baby, then there is another son who looks slightly younger than Gary, an older sister and an older brother. Despite the Mormons being "new characters" they haven't been seen or mentioned since.
[edit] Midget wearing bikini
Midget wearing bikini is a news reporter for the news show in South Park. He has appeared in Pink Eye and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. He is literally a midget in a bikini. Other unusual reporters have such names like Creamy Goodness and Hispanic Man With Gravy Stains On His Lapel, which shows the news show seems to recruit odd people. However, the reports have become more normal in more recent seasons.
[edit] Moses
Moses is a being that the Jewish people make macaroni pictures, popcorn necklaces, and soap carvings for during the Jewish scout camp "Jewbilee". He is called out of the fire by an elder and given these tokens. In Jewbilee, the antagonist Garth puts him in a conch shell before calling upon Haman. Kenny McCormick, who had been banished by Moses for not being Jewish, saves the camp by breaking the conch shell with his head (and of course dying). Moses also appears in the episode Super Best Friends. Moses is based on the Master Control Program from the movie Tron.
[edit] Mr. Derp
Mr. Derp is a minor character voiced by Trey Parker. He is very into slapstick and replaced Chef for a short amount of time in episode 303, "The Succubus", telling the boys Chef quit due to marriage. He wears an apron which reads, "come an' get it!" His name, according to the commentary on the episode, comes from a word invented by Trey Parker and Matt Stone themselves, which they say means "an obvious joke" or is said when they do something dumb.
[edit] Mr. Jefferson
Mr. Jefferson appeared in The Jeffersons as a child-like adult. Though his name is never spoken, it is clearly Michael Jackson, wearing a fake moustache for a disguise. He wanted to relive his childhood and was a target for the police who wanted to frame rich black people. He had a son called Blanket (who was genetically engineered) who Mr. Jefferson didn't look after well and saw Blanket as a playmate. In the end he learned the error of his ways and decided to act like an adult and look after Blanket better.
[edit] Mr. Jarvis
Mr. Jarvis appeared in "Stanley's Cup". He is the editor of the South Park Gazette where Stan works as a delivery boy. Mr. Jarvis yelled at Stan for not delivering the papers on time, and when Stand responded that his bike "had a busted pedal." Jarvis swore at him and said we all have problems and to get used to is.
[edit] Mr. Kitty
Kitty, or Mr. Kitty voiced by comedian Jay Leno in "Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut" and by Trey Parker in all other appearances, is a cat owned by Eric Cartman and his mother Liane Cartman. Cartman often refers to the cat as Mr. Kitty despite the fact that the cat is female. Kitty has gray hair and is a shorthair. Kitty usually tries to get Cartman's food, and Cartman abuses and yells at her. In the episode "Spookyfish", an evil Cartman from a parallel universe arrived and was friendly to Kitty. This caused the regular Cartman soon to become cross with them and scare Kitty off. Kitty's most prominent role was in the season three episode "Cat Orgy".
Since Cat Orgy, Mr. Kitty hasn't been seen, she was mentioned in The Death of Eric Cartman as being part of the list of people and pets Cartman needed to apologize to in order to reach Heaven when he believed he was dead.
[edit] Mr. Wyland
Mr. Wyland replaced Mr. Garrison in two episodes as the 3rd grade teacher after Mr. Garrison was caught attempting to child molester in Cartman Joins NAMBLA. Wyland wears a blue top with a red bow tie. He was first shown in Cherokee Hair Tampons and made the class make a get well card for Kyle.
[edit] Ms. Claridge
Ms. Claridge was the South Park Elementary pre-school teacher. Ms. Claridge has become disabled and covered in burns after a fire broke out in the pre-school classroom at South Park Elementary. The fire was started when Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny wanted to play "fireman" and asked the "baddest kid in pre-school," Trent Boyett to start a fire for them. In spite of the boys' efforts to extinguish the fire (by urinating on it), the fire grew out of control and nearly killed Ms. Claridge. Ms. Claridge survived, but was badly injured and placed on a modern chair which very much resembles Captain Christopher Pike in the original Star Trek episode The Menagerie. Her face is badly scarred and incapable of expression. She cannot speak, but can only communicate by activating the lights and beeps on her wheelchair. If it lights/beeps once it means "yes" and twice means "no." It is not clear how she can function as a teacher if she can only communicate "yes" and "no."
The boys denied all culpability for the fire and Trent Boyett was sent to Juvenile Hall for five years. One day, her wheelchair ran out of power in the middle of the road where the boys found her. Seeking to escape Trent Boyett who has been released from Juvenile Hall, they appeal to Stan's older sister Shelley for protection. Shelley agrees, but only if the boys confess to Ms. Claridge their role in the fire. As the boys start to confess to her, Trent Boyett arrives and confronts the boys. Cartman tries to stop him with his mother's taser gun but it accidentally shoots Ms. Claridge who erupts in flames. It powers her wheelchair which spins out of control into a fire hydrant putting the flames out. The police arrive and ask if Trent started the fire. She replies "no" with two beeps but the police mistake it for "yes yes" and arrest Trent. Ms. Claridge appears briefly in one other episode, "The Death of Eric Cartman," where Cartman, in his efforts to atone for his life's misdeeds, gives her a fruit basket.
[edit] Ms. Ellen
Ms. Ellen was brought in as a substitute while Mr. Garrison had a rhinoplasty. All the boys took an instant liking to her. Wendy, Stan's girlfriend became jealous of her especially since Valentine's Day was coming up. When Mr. Garrison's nose job made him resemble David Hasslehoff he quit teaching and became a model. Wendy then got a makeover only to find out that Ms. Ellen had too. Having had enough she paid a group of Iraqis to have her shot into the Sun, stating she was a traitor to the country. She was then killed. Another part of the plot was Stan trying to have a relationship with Ms. Ellen and got a date with her after winning a spelling test. It was then revealed she was a lesbian, and Stan and the others eventually gave up. Ms. Ellen tried to escape the Iraqis by throwing their sword which actually killed Kenny making her a murderer. Ms. Ellen has never been mentioned since this episode.
[edit] Ms. Stephenson
Ms. Stephenson became South Park Elementary's kindergarten teacher after Mr./Mrs. Garrison was promoted to fourth grade. She then had an affair with Kyle's brother, Ike, claiming that he was very mature for his age (which is at least partially true; Ike is three and already in kindergarten due to unusual intelligence). She was eventually arrested for having this relationship, but later avoided trouble using the "Mel Gibson Defense", claiming that she was an alcoholic. She went into rehab and was released after one meeting. Shortly after the meeting, she abducted Ike from the Broflovski house and planned to flee to Milan.
Cartman is chosen to be the hall monitor and gets angry when seeing the two run off after committing a hall infraction (making out in the halls). He recruits a driver, an assistant, a bitch, and Kyle. They find out that Ms. Stephenson and Ike are residing in the Airport Hilton and that they haven't left for Milan yet. When Cartman and his crew show up at the hotel, the police come. As soon as Ms. Stephenson sees the police, she tries to flee with Ike again, instead running into a dead end on the roof where Cartman and his crew and police surround her and Ike. They decide to go with the backup plan, jumping off the roof. After Kyle tries to explain to Ike that he should be having fun and not ruining his life by having a serious relationship, Ms. Stephenson runs off the hotel to her death, expecting Ike to follow. Ike stops at the last second.
[edit] Nelson Brown
Nelson Brown appears in Stanley's Cup. He has cancer and was on the pee wee hockey team when Stan was coaching it. His cancer took a turn for the worse and he was put into Hell's Pass Hospital, where he would stay alive if the pee wee hockey team won a game. They tied, and in the next game they got beat badly, and Nelson, realizing there was no hope, died. His last words were "no... hope".
His father's name is Jack.
[edit] Santa
Santa is South Parks' version of Santa Claus. He and Jesus are rivals who are always fighting over the meaning of Christmas. In the animated short that started South Park called The Spirit of Christmas, Jesus and Santa had a fight. With some advice from Brian Boitano, the boys told Jesus that Santa keeps the spirit of Christmas alive, and then told Santa that if it wasn't for Jesus there would be no Christmas.
Santa is known for not being afraid to get violent (e.g. Episode 617 - Red Sleigh Down and Episode 814 Woodland Critter Christmas - when necessary and has been known to arm with silenced pistols, 2 Sub Machine Guns and a Shotgun (on separate occasions.)
Another character trait of Santa is his third person speech, like in Woodland Critter Christmas he says "Santa's gonna have to kill you!"
[edit] Scott Tenorman
First seen in Scott Tenorman Must Die, Scott Tenorman first appeared when he tricked Cartman into buying his pubes. After failed attempts at revenge Cartman managed to get his parents killed, ground them into chili and tricked Scott into eating them, making Scott cry and subsequently being ridiculed by his favorite band Radiohead (the actual band guest stars). Scott has been referenced and has appeared in various other cameos, such as in The Death of Eric Cartman, where he is seen crying at his parent's graves.
[edit] Scott
Scott "the Dick" is an occasional recurring character in the animated series South Park, voiced by Trey Parker. Scott lives in Canada and is known by most Canadians as being a dick. He seems to hate fun, especially Terrance and Phillip's (Canadian comedians) toilet humour. He tends to hate a lot of people and is a loner, never being seen with anyone. He is usually given the job as an advisor, first to Saddam Hussein in Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus and then to the new Prime Minister of Canada in It's Christmas in Canada, who also turned out to be Saddam Hussein. His alliances with Saddam make him a traitor to his country, since Saddam has been trying to take over Canada. Scott wears a brown shirt with an "S" on it, like other Canadians who have the first letter of their name on their shirt.
[edit] Sexual Harassment Panda
Sexual Harassment Panda was the school's mascot for Sexual Harassment. He was the cause for everyone suing each other in ridiculous lawsuits. He soon was out of a job and went to the Island of Misfit Mascots. After some convincing he returned as the Don't Sue People Panda. He stopped the lawsuits and everything returned to normal.
[edit] Sparky the Dog
Sparky is Stan's dog. He first appeared in Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride in which it was revealed that he was gay. Stan was upset that Sparky was gay, so Sparky ran away. In this episode, George Clooney was his voice (despite only saying "woof" in various ways). He has been seen in Proper Condom Use, in which Stan red rocketed him and Good Times With Weapons when his fur was used to disguise Butters.
[edit] Skyler
Skyler is a member of the band Lords of the Underworld (briefly Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld) and has been seen on two occasions.
In his first appearance, "Cat Orgy," Skyler is seen as Shelley Marsh's boyfriend who she invites round while babysitting Eric Cartman. He invited his band along. Skyler only wanted Shelley for sex, and because of a huge age difference Shelley was reluctant. (Shelley is 12 and he is in his 20s - Which technically makes him a pedophile) After she refused to have sex he dumped her. Cartman helped her get revenge by trashing his guitar. When he returned angrily at Cartman's house while Shelley was still there Cartman threw catnip at him, attracting Cartman's cat Mr. Kitty and other neighborhood felines. The cats pounced at Skyler.
Skyler was not seen again until "Timmy 2000," in which his band needed "something" to help them win battle of the bands. They then found Timmy, who turned out to be a great singer despite only being able to shout his name. Jealous of Timmy's popularity (thanks to a discussion started by Phil Collins), Skyler left the band to puruse a solo career "Reach for the Skyler". He later rejoined though and they performed at the South Park Battle of the Bands.
[edit] Starvin' Marvin
Starvin' Marvin is a very thin Ethiopian boy who first appeared in Season One's Thanksgiving special, Starvin' Marvin. He later appeared in Starvin' Marvin in Space, in which he relocated his fellow Ethiopians to the planet Marklar. He cannot speak english, but the boys find his clicking ability interesting. Starvin' Marvin was once in the custody of the 4 boys, but Mr. Garrison reported them and had him sent back to Ethiopia.
[edit] The Mole
The Mole, real name Christophe DeLorian, is an operative who aided Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, and Eric Cartman in the film as the trio attempted to free the imprisoned Terrence and Phillip from the United States military, in order to prevent the duo's execution. The kids' schoolmate, Gregory of Yardale, who was more knowledgeable and sophisticated in the ways of politics and warfare, put the kids into contact with the Mole. The kids were shocked to find out that the Mole was a child like themselves, albeit a volatile, paranoid one. The Mole decided to help the boys sneak into the military base where they hoped to free Terrence and Phillip while the soldiers were distracted by a USO show. Because the plan was botched by Cartman (and, in part, a ghostly Kenny), the Mole was mortally wounded in an attack by the base's guard dogs.
The Mole is a mercenary for hire who specializes in digging and navigating tunnels, hence his nickname. He is of French descent and speaks with an accent, although he is very fluent in English. He is not, however, French-Canadian, as has been suspected, because unlike other Canadians, has a head that is in one piece. According to him, his mother tried to perform an abortion on herself while pregnant with him. All we know of his mother is that she does not tolerate blasphemy against God. The Mole, in keeping with his French existentialist stereotype, frequently says derogatory things about God, which gets him grounded. The Mole made a very brief appearance on television (as Stan was browsing channels) in the episode Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub which took place after the movie, proving afterall that he was revived along with the others through Kenny's wish unless it was a rerun of course.
[edit] Timmy's Parents
Richard and Helen were seen on only one occasion (Timmy 2000) and are the parents of the handicapped character Timmy. They were voiced by Trey Parker and Eliza Schneider. Like Timmy they are disabled and are wheelchair-bound. Timmy's father had black hair in the shape Butters Stotch has his. Timmy's mother had long orange hair. Like Timmy they have enlarged heads and seem to only shout their own names "Richard!" and "Helen!" They have only appeared in one episode and have not been seen since, in fact it is unknown if they still exist in the South Park universe.
[edit] Tom, the News Anchor
Tom the News Anchor has appeared in various episodes of South Park speaking about current events. Other news anchors are also referred to as Tom by the reporters.
[edit] Ugly Bob
Ugly Bob was introduced in the episode Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus. Under the advice of Terrance and Phillip he wears a paper bag over his head. Due to the low detail of the animation, it is impossible to discern features of Canadian characters (who are depicted with dark, solid eyes and flapping oval heads); why Bob is considered ugly is unknown (it is thought that it is only to add absurdity to the in-show joke that all Canadians look the same). The only implication of him being ugly is that, when people see his face, they scream in horror.
Later on in the episode it was revealed that he slept with Celine Dion (Terrance's ex wife with whom he has a daughter), without her knowing how apparently "wretchedly ugly" he really is, because he was wearing his paper bag at the time, and claimed to be named "Handsome Bob". However, Terrance took it off his face and Celine Dion screamed in horror, but, instead of dumping him, told him to keep wearing his mask). The union resulted in Celine Dion becoming pregnant with Ugly Bob's child. They hoped the child would have Celine's face, for obvious reasons.
[edit] Visitors
The Visitors are aliens with slim and silver with egg shaped heads and large black eyes. The Visitors first appeared in Cartman Gets An Anal Probe where they hid a metal satellite dish up Cartman's rectum. They then kidnapped Kyle's little brother Ike. In the end the Visitors returned Ike and it was revealed that they had been studying every type of creature on Earth and discovered that cows were the most intelligent. The Visitors then returned in the episode Cancelled when they operated on Cartman again. It was then revealed that the Visitors had used this dish to probe back footage of Earth to their broadcasting spaceship for their reality show Earth. They had done this to many people and everyone found out they were on television. The Joozians (head of the television network) demanded Earth be canceled since it would not be funny if everyone knew they were on television. They then took a photo of the Joozians having sex and blackmailed them that if Earth was canceled they would show the picture to everyone. They then kept Earth on air. They are supposed to be hidden in nearly half of the episodes to date.
