This list of medical schools in the United States includes major academic institutions in the U.S. that award advanced degrees for medical professionals, such as physicians and surgeons. It does not include schools of osteopathic medicine or dentistry, which are listed separately:

Including branch campuses, the United States has a total of 426 allopathic medical schools and 23 osteopathic schools. There are six states with no allopathic medical schools: Alaska, Delaware, Idaho, Maine (which has an osteopathic school), Montana, and Wyoming.
