This is a list of football clubs in Paraguay. The Liga Paraguaya (Paraguayan League) is made of the División Profesional (also known as Primera División) which is the first division and comprises two tournaments per year: Torneo Apertura and Torneo Clausura, with 11 teams participating in both tournaments (the number of teams will be increased to 12 in 2007). At the end of the year, the winner of Torneo Apertura faces the winner of Torneo Clausura to determine the national champion. The second division is called Intermedia, where every year the two top teams are promoted to the First Division.
