This is a list of fictional apes (Bonobos, Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Orangutans, and Gibbons) and other non-human higher primates. Monkeys, which are not apes, have their own page.

Apes (gorillas in particular) were inexplicably popular during the Silver Age of comics, most prevalently seen on the covers of numerous DC Comics.
- Ape-X - A member of The Squadron Supreme
- Brani-ape - A Gorrilla with the transplanted brain of Adolf Hitler from the Savage Dragon series by Erik Larsen.
- Congo Bill and Congorilla from DC Comics
- Cy-Gor from Spawn - A cyborg-gorilla
- Detective Chimp - A superintelligent ape that first appeared in the silver age of DC. Has recently returned in the Infinite Crisis mini-series Day of Vengeance.
- Djuba - sidekick to B'Wana Beast.
- Gorilla Grodd - villain from The Flash comic books (and other residents of Gorilla City)
- Gorilla-Man, two characters from Marvel Comics the first a secret agent in the body of a gorilla, the second a mad scientist.
- Haiku Gorilla, a member of the LNH[1]
- King Solomon - a super-intelligent ape that is the sidekick of Alan Moore's Tom Strong (and numerous alternate versions seen in The Many Worlds of Tesla Strong)
- Solovar - Former ruler of Gorilla City.
