List of female surgeons

This is a list of pioneering female surgeons. About 10% of surgery residents are female, less than 5% out in the field.
In addition to this list, a growing number of female surgeons are entering the field of Cosmetic Surgery. Some of them have greater visibility as they advertise their practices through various mass media.
