This list of dubious and uncertain giant squid sightings is a listing of published accounts of purported giant squid (Architeuthis sp.) sightings. All the reports listed herein cannot, for various reasons, be verified as true sightings of Architeuthis species. Due to their nature, most are impossible to substantiate or at least attribute with any certainty to the giant squid, as opposed to other large species of squid (e.g. Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni or Moroteuthis robusta). Others, although notable, are dubious, as they contradict current scientific knowledge on these animals.

For a list of authenticated giant squid specimens and sightings, see the list of giant squid specimens and sightings.
