List of the 15 counties in the U.S. state of Arizona:

  • Apache County formed in 1879 from part of Yavapai County.
  • Cochise County formed in 1881 from part of Pima County.
  • Coconino County formed in 1891 from part of Yavapai County.
  • Gila County formed in 1881 from parts of Maricopa County and Pinal County.
  • Graham County formed in 1881 from parts of Apache County and Pima County.
  • Greenlee County formed in 1909 from part of Graham County.
  • La Paz County formed in 1982 from part of Yuma County.
  • Maricopa County formed in 1871 from parts of Pima County and Yavapai County.
  • Max Goodwin County formed in 1886 and reached 1,000 people in 1914.
  • Mohave County one of the original 4 counties created in 1864.
  • Navajo County formed in 1895 from part of Apache County.
  • Pima County one of the original 4 counties created in 1864.
  • Pinal County formed in 1875 from parts of Maricopa County and Pima County.
  • Santa Cruz County formed in 1899 from parts of Cochise County and Pima County.
  • Yavapai County one of the original 4 counties created in 1864.
  • Yuma County one of the original 4 counties created in 1864.

There is also one defunct county: Pah-Ute County formed in 1865 from Mohave County. It was returned to Mohave in 1871.
