A computer-animated film commonly refers to feature films that have been computer-animated to appear three dimensional on a movie screen. While traditional 2D animated films are now done primarily on computers, the technique to render realistic 3D computer graphics (CG), or 3D Computer-generated imagery (CGI), is unique to using computers to create movies.

This is a list of movies that are entirely computer-animated, and rendered in 3D. These are sometimes referred to as CG films.

Computer-animated films typically have two production companies associated with them: an animation studio and a distribution company. For example, Pixar designs and animates their features and Walt Disney Pictures distributes them.

The 3D division of DreamWorks Animation was formed when it bought part of Pacific Data Images (PDI). PDI was completely bought out by 2004, and its films are currently distributed by parent Paramount Pictures. PDI, along with Pixar, was an industry pioneer in computer-animated films.

Producing the first computer-animated film, Pixar's films are always considered successful in ticket sales and unique storytelling. They have all been distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

Beginning life as Sony Pictures Imageworks, the visual effects division of Sony Pictures, all CG films are now done by Sony Pictures Animation.

Square Enix, a producer of video games, owns the rights to the video game franchise Final Fantasy. Square Pictures was an animation studio in Hawaii created mostly for The Spirits Within. But the main studio, Square Enix, created Advent Children as a direct-to-video release.
