This is a list of characters with their voice actors from the video game series Kingdom Hearts, sorted by world. For general information, see the main article. For information about the worlds of Kingdom Hearts, see its main article.

Voice actors for Disney characters reprised their roles for Kingdom Hearts whenever possible. On the other hand, the turnover rate between Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II for voice actors of Final Fantasy characters is unusually high.

[edit] Sora

As a teenager, Sora (ソラ, Sora^?) has his share of concerns, but overall, he manages to keep an upbeat attitude. He seems simple-minded at times but he has a strong sense of justice. He lives for the simple pleasures of life, enjoying things like sunsets and ice cream and loves his friends more than anything else. He'll even force himself to the limit to protect them from harm. Sora has always been very open with his emotions. He was the one who was chosen by the Keyblade to battle the Heartless. It was Sora who defeated Xehanort's Heartless (who called himself Ansem), ending his plan to shroud all worlds in darkness. However, Sora continued his journey, seeking Riku and the King, who were sealed behind the door to darkness. This journey took him to Castle Oblivion, when he thought that he was reunited with a friend named Naminé, but he was actually being used by Organization XIII. During Kingdom Hearts II, he searches for and eventually finds Riku and the king, and defeats Organization XIII. He is voiced by Haley Joel Osment in the English version and Miyu Irino in the Japanese version.

Donald Duck (ドナルドダック, Donarudo Dakku^?) is the court wizard of Disney Castle and a loyal servant to King Mickey. He embarks on a journey to carry out the missing king’s orders to follow the Keyblade wielder. He is a feisty, impatient magician whose antics are a real highlight of Sora’s story. He is voiced by Tony Anselmo in the English version and Kōichi Yamadera in the Japanese version.

Goofy (グーフィー, Gūfī^?) is the captain of the Royal Knights of Disney Castle and a soldier who despises weapons, instead preferring a shield to use against his enemies. Under the king’s orders, he accompanies Donald on the quest to find the key. He is an easygoing, but clumsy knight whose endearing charm evokes smiles even in the worst of times. He is voiced by Bill Farmer in the English version and Yutaka Shimaka in the Japanese version.

[edit] Riku

Riku (リク, Riku^?) may seem cool and collected for his age, but he is far from the quiet type. Always curious about the unknown, he begins to question the small, closed world in which he lived. Riku dreamt of seeing other worlds and so he forsook the islands — only to be seduced by the power of darkness. He has a strong need to belong, which makes him vulnerable. He's afraid that if the people he loves don't need him anymore, they'll eventually drift away. Riku will do whatever it takes to prevent that from happening, even if it means having to control them. Feelings like jealousy and rage get in the way of his good judgment, but also help him and his power. He has changed his ways though after Ansem said he would drown in a world of darkness. Riku took control of his life and stopped him for a while. Now he finds help and moral support from Mickey. He is Sora's best friend and greatest rival; both push each other to their limits. In Kingdom Hearts II, Riku, with DiZ, helps Sora regain his true memories. After Sora awakens, Riku travels the worlds, investigating the Organization XIII. He is voiced by David Gallagher in the English version and Mamoru Miyano in the Japanese version.

Kairi (カイリ, Kairi^?) the main female protagonist, arrived on the Destiny Islands where Sora and Riku lived a few years before the events of Kingdom Hearts. She may appear gentle and fragile but she possesses a strong, pure heart. She is also one of the seven "Princesses of Heart" who, together, can open Kingdom Hearts itself. When the Destiny Islands were destroyed by the Heartless, Kairi lost her heart, which took refuge inside of Sora's heart. At Hollow Bastion, Sora freed Kairi's heart by sacrificing himself and becoming a Heartless in the process. Kairi's feelings for Sora were able to restore him to normal again. Eventually Kairi was able to return to Destiny Islands but was separated from Sora and Riku. During Kingdom Hearts II, she finds a means to escape the Islands and searches for her friends with the help of Pluto, Mickey's dog. She is voiced by Hayden Panettiere in the English version and Risa Uchida in the Japanese version.

[edit] King Mickey

The ruler of Disney Castle, King Mickey (王様, Ōsama^?) left his world when the Heartless began to attack. While he had Donald and Goofy find and protect the Keyblade Master, Mickey was on a mission of his own. In Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II, he returns and plays a bigger role, wielding the Keyblade of the dark realm. While he knows of Riku's whereabouts, he has promised Riku that he will not say anything to Sora. He is voiced by Wayne Allwine in the English version and Takashi Aoyagi in the Japanese version.

Maleficent (マレフィセント, Marefisento^?) is a sorceress of awesome power. She leads the villains who seek to harness the power of darkness, urging them to be careful not to let it overwhelm them. However, unbeknownst to her, the Heartless she believes she controls are actually using her. Riku (possessed by Ansem) unlocks her heart and turns her into her dragon form. Sora defeats and kills her but she is resurrected in Kingdom Hearts II. She is voiced by Susan Blakeslee in the English version and Toshiko Sawada in the Japanese version.

[edit] Xehanort

A student under Ansem the Wise, Xehanort (ゼアノート, Zeanōto^?) had no memory of his life prior to his sudden appearance at the Radiant Gardens. While studying the heart and the darkness within it, he began to assume the identity of his former master and ultimately destroyed his world out of his hunger for knowledge. He sacrificed his body in the process, becoming a Heartless and Nobody. To open the Final Keyhole to darkness, Xehanort's Heartless used Maleficent to gather the seven Princesses of Heart for him. He then possessed Riku's body to regain his physical presence. Although his goal was realized, Xehanort's Heartless meets his demise at Sora's hands. He is voiced by Billy Zane in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Richard Epcar in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Akio Ohtsuka in the Japanese versions of both games.

DiZ (ディズ, Dizu^?) was formerly Ansem the Wise (賢者アンセム, Kenja Ansemu^?), ruler of the Radiant Garden, but he has since cast off that name. As a researcher and ruler of his world, DiZ studied the heart and delved into the many secrets of the worlds. In Castle Oblivion, he appeared before Riku in the guise of Xehanort's Heartless, presenting him with choices regarding the darkness within his heart. DiZ's intentions are a mystery but revolve around the Organization. In Kingdom Hearts II he uses a device to attempt to convert Kingdom Hearts into data, but fails; he helps Sora by using it to damage Kingdom Hearts, dying in the explosion. In Kingdom Hearts II, it is revealed that his name is an acronym for "Darkness in Zero". He is voiced by Christopher Lee in the English version and Genzō Wakayama in the Japanese version.

[edit] Roxas

Roxas (ロクサス, Rokusasu^?) is Sora's Nobody who was "born" when Sora stabbed himself with the dark Keyblade created by Ansem and turned into a Heartless. Roxas had no memory of being Sora because of his "rare birth" and eventually left the Organization to find Sora. However, Roxas was captured by Riku and placed in DiZ's virtual Twilight Town with no memory of before. Overtime, Roxas eventually remembers his true self and accepts his true nature during the process of merging with Sora. However, Roxas remained active, challenging and losing to Sora in a "mental duel". Roxas is the 13th member of Organization XIII, the "Key of Destiny", and controls the element of Light along with the Samurai Nobodies. He dual-wields the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades. He is voiced by Jesse McCartney in the English version and Koki Uchiyama in the Japanese version.

Naminé (ナミネ, Namine^?) is Kairi's Nobody, born when her heart was lost to Sora during a "rare occasion". She is a young witch who can manipulate memories. Under orders from Marluxia, Naminé shadowed Kairi and altered Sora's memory while he was in Castle Oblivion. Because Naminé is based on the false memories of Sora's feelings towards Kairi, Sora believed he and Naminé had been friends since childhood until he learned the truth that he never met her. The forgiveness in Sora's heart moved Naminé to disobey the orders she was given. She then spent a year to reconstruct Sora's memory. Before the final battle, Naminé fused with Kairi after opening a dark corridor for everyone to escape. She is voiced by Brittany Snow in the English version and Iku Nakahara in the Japanese version.

In Kingdom Hearts II, Pete (ピート, Pīto^?) is one of the main villains Sora and his friends have to deal with. He was originally a Captain from the Disney Castle world, referring to Mickey as the "boat boy king", but was banished to another dimension for his evil ways. However, he is freed by Maleficent and vows to help her conquer the worlds, or as he says, "have her help me take over". He is voiced by Jim Cummings in the English version and Tōru Ōhira in the Japanese version.

The mysterious group of thirteen powerful Nobodies, Organization XIII (XIII機関, Jūsan Kikan^?) studies the inner workings of the heart in an attempt to become whole again. The first six members are the Nobodies of Ansem the Wise's former disciples, while the last member is Roxas. Their leader is Xemnas, the Nobody of Xehanort.

[edit] Riku Replica

Riku Replica (リク＝レプリカ, Riku-Repurika^?) is a clone of Riku created by Vexen in Castle Oblivion during the events of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. While Riku feared his darkness, the replica wielded it freely. Larxene and Vexen decide to have Naminé erase the replica's memories and replace them with the same false memories of Naminé that they planted in Sora.

Believing himself to be the real Riku, he engages Sora several times, telling him that he is not wanted in Castle Oblivion and that he would be the one to "save" Namine. During the final fight between Sora and him, he catches Sora off-guard and is about to finish him off when Naminé interferes and destroys his memories to save Sora, rendering him unconscious.

Later on the 13th floor of the castle, the Riku Replica reappears and prevents Marluxia from slaying Naminé. After Sora defeats Marluxia, he thanks the clone who mentions that he does not have to be real to see Sora's kindness. The clone is found by Axel as he wanders around Castle Oblivion. Axel promises that he would become a new entity, not a shadow of someone, if he gained new powers. Listening to Axel, he kills Zexion but finds that this did not give him the individuality he desired and he decides that the only way to be original is to kill the original. Tracking Riku to the entrance of the Old Mansion in memory-Twilight Town, he fights Riku a final time but is defeated. As he lies mortally wounded and wondering where an artificial heart would go after death, Riku attempts to comfort his copy by saying "Your heart will go to the same place as mine." All the replica replies is "How original" and vanishes with a slight smile.

In the manga, Riku Replica's story ends differently in a bizzare, humorous bonus comic. He wakes up after Namine destroys his memories and his old memories return. He has a short "fight" with the real Riku but loses, then winds up at Vexen's grave stone. After a set of Vexen Replicas appear, he takes them in tow and leaves Castle Oblivion.

[edit] Heartless

The Heartless (ハートレス, Hātoresu^?), creatures of the darkness created when a being succumbs to the darkness in their heart, appear out of nowhere. Their origin and purpose are surrounded in mystery. The Heartless cast worlds into darkness, stealing away people’s hearts. They attack Sora and his world without mercy, drawn to him by the Keyblade that he possesses. There are two main categories of Heartless, Emblem and Pureblood, and stronger Heartless are more beastlike than the weaker.

[edit] Nobody

Creatures sharing an in-between existence, a Nobody (ノーバディ, Nōbadi^?) is born from the body and soul of a strong-hearted person who lost his heart to the Heartless. Unlike the Heartless, Nobodies attack people out of confusion and a need to be complete. White in appearance, they are controlled by the strongest Nobodies, Organization XIII. The Heartless and the Nobodies are born almost at the same time and always from the same body.

[edit] Jiminy Cricket

Jiminy Cricket (ジミニー・クリケット, Jiminī Kuriketto^?) is Pinocchio's conscience. He comes along on the quest as the royal chronicler, recording information about people, places and events in his journal. He is voiced by Eddie Carroll in the English version and Kaneta Kimotsuki in the Japanese version.

[edit] Pluto

The king’s pet dog, Pluto (プルート, Purūto^?) shows up at unexpected times, such as at the end of Kingdom Hearts, when he brings Sora a letter with the king's seal. Pluto is led many places and eventually finds Kairi and keeps her company in the castle of the Organization. He is voiced by Bill Farmer in both versions.

[edit] Merlin

A magical wizard that King Mickey ordered to teach Sora magic in the first Kingdom Hearts, Merlin (マーリン, Mārin^?) is an eccentric man who is very helpful at times. He lives in Traverse Town during Kingdom Hearts. In Kingdom Hearts II, he goes to Hollow Bastion along with Leon and his group to help restore their old home. He is voiced by Jeff Bennett in the English version and Minoru Uchida in the Japanese version.

The Moogles (モーグリ, Mōguri^?) are the individuals in charge of the synthesis workshop, where the player can create a variety of items and equipment, including a Keychain for the most powerful version of the Keyblade. Moogles are well known for their roles in the Final Fantasy series. In Kingdom Hearts II many of the Moogles are from Final Fantasy IX, including Stiltskin, Kupo and Artemicion.

Snow White (白雪姫, Shirayuki-hime^?) is a princess whose world was destroyed by the Heartless. She was kidnapped so that her heart could be taken away and used to open Kingdom Hearts. She is one of the seven Princesses of Heart.

[edit] Cinderella

Cinderella (シンデレラ, Shinderera^?) is a kind young woman whose world was destroyed by the Heartless. Like Aurora and Snow White, she is kidnapped and has her heart stolen. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother makes an appearance and helps Sora. She is one of the seven Princesses of Heart.

Aurora (オーロラ姫, Ōrora-hime^?) is a princess who came from the same world as Maleficent. Her heart was stolen and world destroyed by the Heartless. She wears the crown that Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather gave her. She is one of the seven Princesses of Heart.

[edit] Tidus

A cheerful, strong-willed and excitable boy of Destiny Islands who gets carried away rather easily, Tidus (ティーダ, Tīda^?) is very confident in his athletic skills and often challenges Sora to practice duels. He also thinks himself as a champion at everything. Like Wakka, he does not make an appearance in Kingdom Hearts II, though he is mentioned by Selphie. He is voiced by Shaun Fleming in the English version and Masakazu Morita in the Japanese version.

An innocent, carefree girl, Selphie (セルフィ, Serufi^?) always wants to be the leader of the group and gives Wakka a hard time. In Kingdom Hearts II, she is very friendly with Kairi and mentions Tidus and Wakka, who are absent in the game. She is voiced by Molly Keck in the English version and Mayuko Aoki in the Japanese version.

A soft-hearted youth with a stubborn streak, Wakka (ワッカ, Wakka^?) plays the dependable big brother, teaching the others many things. He envies Riku because he is good at everything. He does not make an appearance in Kingdom Hearts II, but he is mentioned by Selphie as constantly playing a ball game, possibly blitzball, with Tidus. He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker in the English version and Kazuya Nakai in the Japanese version.

[edit] Queen Minnie

Queen Minnie (ミニー王妃 , Minī-ōhi^?) is the queen of Disney Castle. She takes charge during the King’s absence. Having entrusted Donald and Goofy with finding the King, she awaits their safe return. Although she is sweet and quiet, she can be of great aid in bad situations. She is voiced by Russi Taylor in the English version and Yūko Mizutani in the Japanese version.

An aristocrat who resides in the castle, Daisy Duck (デイジーダック, Deijī Dakku^?) kindly encourages Donald and Goofy before their journey. Like the queen, she prays for their safety – especially Donald’s. She is voiced by Tress MacNeille in the English version and Mika Doi in the Japanese version.

Chip and Dale (チップとデール, Chippu to Dēru^?) are the brothers who work together on the Gummi Ship utilized by Sora, Donald and Goofy to travel from one world to another. Although Chip and Dale may look alike at first glance, a deeper look reveals not only physical differences: their personalities are also drastically different. Chip is voiced by Tress MacNeille in the English version and Roko Takizawa in the Japanese version. Dale is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Minoru Inaba in the Japanese version.

[edit] Scrooge McDuck

Donald's uncle, Scrooge McDuck (スクルージ・マクダック, Sukurūji Makudakku^?) is a business tycoon who traveled with King Mickey prior to the Heartless' appearance. Originally he was helping Mickey set up a transit system for the worlds. However, after the Heartless invasion, Scrooge was not seen again until the Hollow Bastion restoration project began in Kingdom Hearts II. There, he was attempting to recreate sea-salt ice cream and is successful near the end of the game.

[edit] Pete

"Past" Pete is Pete's previous incarnation in Timeless River. He is the owner and captain of a steamboat which Past Mickey works on. When the current Pete steals the Cornerstone of Light and the steamboat, Past Pete aids Sora in defeating Pete. He is voiced by Jim Cummings in the English version and Tōru Ōhira in the Japanese version.

"Past" Mickey appears in the windows of Timeless River, helping act out scenarios from his past. He always ends his encounters with a hearty handshake.

Alice (アリス, Arisu^?) is a curious young girl who strays into Wonderland. She is also one of the seven Princesses of Heart. However, her presence angers the Queen of Hearts and she is accused of attempting to steal the Queen's heart. She is voiced by Kathryn Beaumont in the English version and Mika Doi in the Japanese version.

The Queen of Hearts (ハートの女王, Hāto no Jo'ō^?) is the arrogant ruler of Wonderland. She is assaulted by someone and almost loses her heart. At first, she accuses Alice but then commissions Sora and his friends to find the real culprit. She is voiced by Tress MacNeille in the English version and Sumie Ozawa in the Japanese version.

The White Rabbit (白ウサギ, Shiro Usagi^?) is the Queen's personal assistant but he always complains of being late for an important date while hurrying somewhere with a large watch in hand. He also performs her courtly functions. He is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Shigeru Ushiyama in the Japanese version.

The Cheshire Cat is a mysterious cat that keeps appearing and disappearing. His wide grin runs from one ear to the other. He also likes to give cryptic clues about the culprit and the Heartless.

[edit] Hercules

A legendary hero who is incredibly strong, Hercules (ヘラクレス, Herakuresu^?) is the son of the gods Zeus and Hera, but is not a god himself, instead he is a demi-god. He was given a chance to be a god but refused so he could stay with Megara at Olympus Coliseum. In Kingdom Hearts II, Hercules spends his days fighting off Hades' challengers in the Coliseum and he hardly has a moment to catch his breath. Feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders, Hercules cannot help but be depressed after the Coliseum gets destroyed on his watch. However, with Sora's help, he remembers what it truly means to be a hero. He is voiced by Sean Astin in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Tate Donovan in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Yasunori Matsumoto in the Japanese versions of both games.

[edit] Philoctetes

Philoctetes or "Phil" (フィル, Firu^?) is a satyr, veteran trainer of heroes, and Hercules’ mentor. These days he’s very busy running the Coliseum and choosing competitors suitable for the games. He helps Sora in the fight against the Hydra by throwing Sora urns to knock out the Hydra's heads so Sora can eliminate them. He is voiced by Robert Costanzo in the English version and Ichirō Nagai in the Japanese version.

Megara (メガラ, Megara^?) is a young woman who was betrayed by the man she loved and forced to serve Hades. She was supposed to discover Hercules' weak point, but fell for him instead and turned on Hades. This ultimately cost Meg her life, but Hercules rescued her from the Underworld, reuniting them. She helps Sora and co. in the fight against the Hydra by giving out HP, MP, and Drive Orbs. She is voiced by Susan Egan in the English version and Rica Matsumoto in the Japanese version.

Hades summoned Auron (アーロン, Āron^?), a formerly dead warrior, to dispose of Hercules. However, he refused to make a pact with Hades and instead tries to put an end to his plans, joining Sora's party. Later, Hades captures his soul to make him a mindless slave. When Sora helps to free Auron's soul, Auron has a flashback of the time before his residence in the Underworld. He doesn't think of himself as a hero but rather as a guardian. Auron's combination attack is named after his overdrive from Final Fantasy X. He is voiced by Matt McKenzie in the English version and Hideo Ishikawa in the Japanese version.

[edit] Hades

Hades (ハデス, Hadesu^?) is the Lord of the Underworld. Although he appears to have a light sense of humour, it hides a fiery temper and fierce jealosy. He hires Cloud to eliminate Hercules during a tournament at the Coliseum but he fails in this endeavor. However, Hades is scheming to use his own domain, the Underworld, in another dark plot. He is voiced by James Woods in the English version and Kyusaku Shimada in the Japanese version.

Guardian to the entrance to the Underworld, Cerberus (ケルベロス, Keruberosu^?) is Hades’ loyal 3-headed companion. Hercules defeated him once but Hades brought Cerberus back to fight Sora and friends. He has fought Sora and company outside organized tournaments on two occasions under Hades' orders.

[edit] Tarzan

Tarzan (ターザン, Tāzan^?) is a young man raised from infancy by gorillas in Deep Jungle. His gorilla “mother” is Kala. He spoke only the language of the apes until he met Jane. He first saves Sora from Sabor and later joins his party. He is voiced by Tony Goldwyn in the English version and Jūrōta Kosugi in the Japanese version.

A naturalist who is in Africa with Clayton, Jane Porter (ジェーン・ポーター, Jēn Pōtā^?) came to study gorillas. She met Tarzan in Deep Jungle and is gradually teaching him about human ways and is very interested in learning the gorilla language. She is voiced by Naia Kelly in the English version and Mayumi Suzuki in the Japanese version.

A veteran hunter, Clayton (クレイトン, Kureiton^?) acts as Jane’s guide on her expedition to Africa. He thinks of animals only as prey and dreams of the money to be made selling gorillas to zoos in England. His black heart gave him the power to control Heartless but he was crushed by his own Heartless steed after being defeated by Sora. He is voiced by Brian Blessed in the English version and Banjō Ginga in the Japanese version.

[edit] Aladdin

Aladdin (アラジン, Arajin^?) is a young man living in the desert city of Agrabah. He fell in love with Princess Jasmine, but he’s afraid to tell her about his humble background. With a little luck, he finds Genie in the Cave of Wonders and is drawn into Jafar's evil plot. Joining Sora's party, Aladdin defeats Jafar and seals him inside a lamp. In Kingdom Hearts II, Aladdin feels lonely and restless without Genie and is looking for some excitement which soon comes calling. He is voiced by Scott Weinger in the English version and Shinichiro Miki in the Japanese version.

Iago (イアーゴ, Iāgo^?) is a loud-mouthed, talking parrot and Jafar's lackey. Sick of being ordered around, he makes a change of heart in Kingdom Hearts II and joins forces with Sora. He is voiced by Gilbert Gottfried in the English version and Akira Kamiya in the Japanese version.

Abu (アブー, Abū^?) is Aladdin's cheeky, but loyal pet monkey and friend. He is very nimble and helps Sora by leaping across to switches that are out of his reach in the Cave Of Wonders. In Kingdom Hearts II, Abu manages to steal a jewel egg from the Cave of Wonders (which Donald fancied as well), which was the gate to the next world. He is voiced by Frank Welker in the English version.

[edit] Princess Jasmine

As the Princess of Agrabah, Princess Jasmine (ジャスミン, Jasumin^?) is one of the seven Princesses of Heart. Jasmine is a headstrong and smart woman who could evade capture by the Heartless. In Kingdom Hearts II, she is worried about Aladdin's erratic behavior. She is voiced by Linda Larkin in the English version and Kaori Asō in the Japanese version.

Genie (ジーニー, Jīnī^?) is the spirit of the magic lamp, who has been freed by Aladdin with his third wish. He goes off to see the world after his emancipation. In Kingdom Hearts II, he returns to Agrabah in time for Jafar's return but sadly misses all the action. Sora can call on him as a summonable ally in all three Kingdom Hearts games for help. He is voiced by Dan Castellaneta in the English version and Kōichi Yamadera in the Japanese version.

Jafar (ジャファー, Jafā^?) is the royal vizier of Agrabah. He is unprincipled and ruthless in pursuit of his aims. He used the Heartless and Genie to try to take over the kingdom. However, he used his final wish to become "an all-powerful genie". Though he was sealed as a result of his power-lust, he managed to return to wreak havoc in Kingdom Hearts II until he was finally defeated. He is voiced by Jonathan Freeman in the English version and Akira Takarada in the Japanese version.

[edit] The Peddler

Making a minor cameo in Kingdom Hearts, the Peddler has a bigger role in Kingdom Hearts II. He now has the magic lamp containing the genie form of Jafar. Abu tries to take it in order to prevent Jafar from being released, but fails. Then Pete attacks the him for the lamp but Sora and Aladdin defeat Pete and seal Jafar's lamp in a chest in the bottom of the palace. Later on, the tempted Peddler takes the lamp. Thus Jafar was released into the city of Agrabah once again to wreak havoc. He is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Takashi Matsuo in the Japanese version.

Crafted by Geppetto and brought to life by the Blue Fairy, Pinocchio (ピノキオ, Pinokio^?) gets lost inside Monstro. At Geppetto's request, Sora and company venture inside to find him. He now lives in Traverse Town with Geppetto and is working hard to become a real boy. He is voiced by Seth Adkins in the English version and Yuki Tokiwa in the Japanese version.

Geppetto (ゼペット, Zepetto^?) is a kind, gentle woodcarver. All his skills went into making Pinocchio. When the little puppet disappears, Geppetto sets out to find him but he and his boat were swallowed by Monstro, the whale. After Sora finds Pinocchio inside Monstro, Leon assists Geppetto and Pinocchio in finding a home for them in Traverse Town. He is voiced by Tony Pope in the English version and Kazuo Kumakura in the Japanese version.

Monstro (モンストロ, Monsutoro^?) is the enormous whale whose insides comprise the world in Kingdom Hearts. It is alternatively found between Agrabah and Halloween Town or between Agrabah and Atlantica. Monstro is infested with Heartless and has swallowed Geppetto's ship whole.

Winnie the Pooh (プー, Pū^?) is a stuffed bear living in the 100 Acre Wood. His favorite food is honey. Being a bear of Very Little Brain, he’s a bit absent minded. Sometimes he even forgets what it was he was trying to remember. This is emphasized when, following the Heartless' attempt to steal the book, Pooh forgets everyone he ever knew. He is voiced by Shun Yashiro in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts and Sukekiyo Kameyama in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Jim Cummings in the English versions of both games.

Tigger (ティガー, Tigā^?) loves to bounce more than anything. Sometimes his bouncing gets out of hand, but he doesn’t mean any harm. Underneath that happy-go-lucky exterior beats a surprisingly sensitive, gentle heart. He is voiced by Jim Cummings in the English version and Tesshō Genda in the Japanese version.

Piglet (ピグレット, Piguretto^?) is Pooh’s best friend in the 100 Acre Wood. Tiny and timid, Piglet is startled by just about anything and when that happens he covers his eyes with his floppy ears. He is voiced by John Fiedler in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Travis Oates in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Kiyoshi Komiyama in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts and Mitsuru Ogata in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts II.

One of Pooh's friends who manages a garden, Rabbit (ラビット, Rabitto^?) is constantly frustrated by Pooh's habit of devouring his honey and Tigger's repeated attempts to ruin his vegetable patch. He is voiced by Ken Sansom in the English version and Naoki Tatsuta in the Japanese version.

Eeyore (イーヨー, Īyō^?) is a depressed donkey who lives in the 100 Acre Wood. He has no permanent dwelling, and his only shelter is an arranged set of sticks that are always being knocked down. He also constantly misplaces his tail, which is only attached to him by a small nail that keeps slipping out. He goes about with a pessimistic attitude, never really seeing the bright side. However, he is never unwilling to help and he takes life almost stoically in stride. He is voiced by Gregg Berger in the English versions and Taro Ishida in the Japanese versions.

A highly knowledgeable bird who lives in the 100 Acre Wood, Owl (オウル, Ōru^?) offers advice to anyone who asks, but is not always reliable and tends to talk too much. He is voiced by Andre Stojka in the English version and Toshiya Ueda in the Japanese version.

A mother kangaroo to Roo, Kanga (カンガ, Kanga^?) is kind to everyone in the 100 Acre Wood and will help anyone who needs it. She is voiced by Tress MacNeille in the English version and Tomie Kataoka in the Japanese version.

Roo (ルー, Rū^?) dreams of bouncing as well as Tigger someday. He is mischievous, energetic, and fearless, but grows uneasy when Tigger is not around. He is voiced by Jimmy Bennett in the English version and Masaya Sugimoto in the Japanese version.

Her naïveté makes her a prime target for Ursula's trickery. She is voiced by Jodi Benson in the English version and Mayumi Suzuki in the Japanese version.

King Triton (トリトン王, Toriton-ō^?) is the ruler of Atlantica and father of Ariel. He is very strict, and doesn't like Ariel thinking about the outside world. When Triton discovers that Ariel is in love with Prince Eric, he decides to throw a music festival in order to make Ariel forget about Eric. He is voiced by Kenneth Mars in the English version and Taro Ishida in the Japanese version.

Sebastian (セバスチャン, Sebasuchan^?) is Triton’s concert master and a musical genius. The little crab is also responsible for keeping an eye on Ariel to ensure her safety. Whenever she leaves the palace, he’s on pins and needles. He is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson in the English version and Kōichi Yamadera in the Japanese version.

Eric (エリック王子, Erikku-ōji^?) is a handsome young prince whom Ariel falls in love with and rescues from drowning from a storm. Unfortunately for Ariel, the only thing he recalls of her is her beautiful voice. He is voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes in the English version and Kazuhiko Inoue in the Japanese version.

An evil sea witch living inside a cave far from the palace, Ursula (アースラ, Āsura^?) has the power to grant wishes but in return demands a very hefty sacrifice. She is trying to oust Triton and take over Atlantica. She is voiced by Pat Carroll in the English version and Kujira in the Japanese version.

Jack Skellington (ジャック・スケリントン, Jakku Sukerinton^?) is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town who loves to scare people out of their wits. Headstrong, confident and vivacious, Jack is the charismatic organizer of each year's Halloween festival, as well as a member of Sora's party. In Kingdom Hearts, he thought that using Heartless would be an extra special touch. He is fascinated by Christmas but has a bad history with Santa Claus. He is voiced by Chris Sarandon in the English version and Masachika Ichimura in the Japanese version.

Sally (サリー, Sarī^?) is one of Dr. Finklestein’s creation. She helps him around the lab but she’d much rather spend time with Jack. Her limbs often come off and can move about on their own. She loves Jack and tries to steer him in the right direction though it does not always work. She is voiced by Rita Rudner in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Kath Soucie in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. She is voiced by Yuko Doi in the Japanese versions of both games.

Dr. Finklestein (フィンケルスタイン博士, Finkerusutain-hakase^?) is the mad scientist who created a "heart" to help Jack control the Heartless’ dancing. He then created a robot, the Experiment, that went on a gift-theft spree. Sally is another one of his creations. He is voiced by Jess Harnell in the English version and Yuji Mitsuya in the Japanese version.

A literally two-faced politician, the Mayor (町長, Chōchō^?) has trouble doing anything without Jack's help. His face switches between happy and sad, depending on the situation. Every year, he commissions Jack to prepare Halloween for him. He is voiced by Jeff Bennett in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Glenn Shadix in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Tōru Ōhira in the Japanese versions of both games.

Lock, Shock and Barrel (ロックとショックとバレル, Rokku to Shokku to Bareru^?) are three young children that work for Oogie Boogie. They are little pests to Jack and the rest of Halloween Town even after Oogie is destroyed. Now they work as assistants to Dr. Finklestein though they are not very good at it. Lock is voiced by Jess Harnell in the English version and Shintaro Sonooka in the Japanese version. Shock is voiced by Kath Soucie in the English version and Yuko Doi in the Japanese version. Barrel is voiced by Jeff Bennett in the English version and Shigeo Matsuzawa in the Japanese version.

Referred to as "Sandy Claws" (サンディ・クローズ, Sandi Kurōzu^?) by Jack and most of the Halloween Town residents, Santa Claus (サンタクロース, Santa Kurōsu^?) is abducted by Oogie and Maleficent who want to turn him into a Heartless. However, he is later saved and convinces Jack to give up on taking over Christmas. He also reveals several interesting details about Sora's past, including the fact that Riku told him that there was no such thing as Santa Claus. He is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Tomoaki Nagae in the Japanese version.

[edit] Oogie Boogie

This evil bag of bugs wants Jack out of town so he can take over. To further his plot, Oogie Boogie (ブギー, Bugī^?) sends Lock, Shock and Barrel to steal the heart Dr. Finkelstien created. He was defeated but was revived by Maleficent. He is voiced by Ken Page in the English version and Hiroshi Hatanaka in the Japanese version.

[edit] Experiment

Using components scavenged around town, Dr. Finklestein created the puppet-like, robotic Experiment to make a new friend for Lock, Shock, and Barrel. However, the robot was not equipped with a heart, prompting it to steal Christmas gifts. It hoped that it could gain a heart through the presents, which were a special way of giving your heart to someone. Sadly, Sora and co. were forced to destroy it.

Peter Pan (ピーター・パン, Pītā Pan^?) is the flying boy from Neverland, where no one ever grows up. He can be stubborn, but he is also fearless and has a strong sense of justice. He snuck on board Hook’s ship to save Wendy, who was kidnapped. While he joins Sora's party in Kingdom Hearts, Peter Pan appears only as a summonable ally in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Mitsuo Iwata in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts and Yu Hayashi in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Christopher Steele in the English versions of both games.

Tinker Bell (ティンカー・ベル, Tinkā Beru^?) is a pixie with a temper. She is jealous of Wendy and the affection that Peter shows towards her. After the defeat of Captain Hook, Peter asks Sora to look after Tinkerbell thus Sora earns the Tinkerbell summon. She flies around in battle healing Sora and his allies and can revive Sora if he is knocked out. She can also be summoned to aid Sora in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and again in Kingdom Hearts II alongside Peter Pan.

A girl that lusts for Neverland, Peter comes at midnight and takes Wendy (ウェンディ, Wendi^?) to Neverland. She is kidnapped by Captain Hook who mistakes her for one of the seven Princesses of Heart. She is voiced by Kathryn Beaumont in the English version and Yuriko Fuchizaki in the Japanese version.

Captain Hook (フック船長, Fukku-senchō^?) is a pirate captain with a grudge against Peter Pan. In the past, Peter caused the loss of Captain Hook's hand to the Crocodile in a duel. Hook is an overbearing bully except when the Croc’s around. He captured Wendy, believing her to be a Princess of Heart but he is chastised by Riku. He is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Chikao Ohtsuka in the Japanese version.

A swordsman from Hollow Bastion who fights the Heartless, Leon (レオン, Reon^?) is reticent and often seems aloof. His real name is Squall Leonhart, a name he has vowed not to use until the Heartless are defeated. He and his teammates, Yuffie and Aerith, escaped to Traverse Town with the help of Cid when the Heartless took over Hollow Bastion. In Kingdom Hearts, he is found in a small house in the Third District. Later in the game, he is found in the Hollow Bastion Library, searching for books that explain how to 'vanquish the darkness'. In Kingdom Hearts II, he and his group form the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee to organize the rebuilding effort. He fights alongside Sora at several points as well as competes against him in the Coliseum and the Underdrome. He is voiced by David Boreanaz in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Doug Erholtz in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Hideo Ishikawa in the Japanese versions of both games.

Cid (シド, Shido^?) operates the Accessory Shop in Traverse Town. Later in the game, he leaves his post at the shop and sells gummi blocks instead. He can be crass, but he is honest as well. He also has uncanny dexterity for a simple shop owner. After returning to Hollow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts II, Cid helps build the defense system "Claymore" to help protect the town from Heartless attacks. The name "Cid" has a recurring role in the Final Fantasy series. He is voiced by Chris Edgerly in the English version and Kazuhiro Yamaji in the Japanese version.

[edit] Cloud

A mysterious warrior who wields an impressive sword, Cloud (クラウド, Kuraudo^?) keeps much to himself, which makes him much of an enigma. He has a black demonic wing on his left shoulder in Kingdom Hearts but this wing is not found in Kingdom Hearts II. Cloud is first seen as a mercenary, hired by Hades to kill Hercules in a tournament in exchange for the light in his heart. Sora tells Cloud that he will find his light after Hades' promise proves false. Cloud also fights Sephiroth in the Final Mix version of Kingdom Hearts. In Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Sora's memory reconstruction of Cloud again is bribed by Hades to kill Hercules. After being bested, Cloud offers his services to Sora in the form of his summon card. In Kingdom Hearts II, Sora helps Cloud find Sephiroth and also gives his word to Aerith that he'll always come back. Cloud and Sephiroth fight for the last time with Sora, Donald and Goofy's help. It has been confirmed that he had been looking for Sephiroth, who embodies Cloud's dark side, to settle the fight against darkness. He often appears to fight at the Coliseum and Underdrome. He is voiced by Steve Burton in the English version and Takahiro Sakurai in the Japanese version.

A woman with a pure heart allied with Leon, Aerith (エアリス, Earisu^?) fights the Heartless beside Sora and the others and stands strong in the face of adversity. She seems to have a platonic relationship with Cloud. She is voiced by Mandy Moore in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Mena Suvari in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. She is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto in the Japanese versions of both games.

Tifa (ティファ, Tifa^?) is a kind, young woman who is not afraid to use force when necessary. Unflinching and unrelenting, she is searching far and wide for a very close friend of hers, a young man with very spiky hair -- otherwise known as Cloud. She also appears to fight at the Underdrome. She is voiced by Rachael Leigh Cook in the English version and Ayumi Ito in the Japanese version.

A female ninja working with Leon, Yuffie (ユフィ, Yufi^?) is a free-spirit and somewhat self-centered. She helps Leon rebuild Hollow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts II. She also appears to fight at the Coliseum and Underdrome. She is voiced by Christy Carlson Romano in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and Mae Whitman in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. She is voiced by Yumi Kakazu in the Japanese versions of both games.

A dangerous warrior, Sephiroth (セフィロス, Sefirosu^?) embodies the darkness in Cloud's heart. He wields a long katana that only he has the capability of using (which seems to be twice as long as its Final Fantasy VII counterpart). He has a single, black wing on his right shoulder in Kingdom Hearts, but sports three in Kingdom Hearts II. Sephiroth also has blue eyes as opposed to the green ones from Final Fantasy VII. He appears in the Olympus Coliseum as one of the toughest bosses in the game. He returns in Kingdom Hearts II seeking Cloud and Sora's Keyblade. However, his main purpose is to convince Cloud to give in to his darkness. Tifa comes to the confused Cloud in time to aid him. Their combined light is enough to overpower Sephiroth. At the end of the fight, a glowing Cloud jumps up to finish a floating Sephiroth. However, they disappear, leaving Tifa searching for Cloud again. It is possible that Sephiroth is Cloud's Nobody because Sephiroth says he is the darkness that consumes Cloud's heart and Goofy comments that the two look somewhat alike. Most telling is that Sephiroth remarks to Cloud "I am you". He is voiced by Lance Bass in the English version of Kingdom Hearts and George Newbern in the English version of Kingdom Hearts II. He is voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts II, as Sephiroth was not featured in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts.

[edit] Yuna, Rikku and Paine

Yuna (ユウナ, Yūna^?), Rikku (リュック, Ryukku^?), and Paine (パイン, Pain^?) are three fairies that appear in Hollow Bastion; They call themselves as "The Envoys of Peace" and are treasure fanatics. They were secretly working for Maleficent, who had them spy on the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, until Maleficent left them to fend for themselves during the massive battle. Donald's lie causes the trio to work for Leon who was said to have more treasure than their former employer. Eventually, the three learn the truth and want payback from Sora. However, learning of everything Sora and friends went through, the fairies decide to let Sora and gang off the hook by giving Sora a keychain as a gift. Yuna is voiced by Hedy Burress in the English version and Mayuko Aoki in the Japanese version. Rikku is voiced by Tara Strong in the English version and Marika Matsumoto in the Japanese version. Paine is voiced by Gwendoline Yeo in the English version and Megumi Toyoguchi in the Japanese version.

Tron (トロン, Toron^?) is a security program inside the world of Space Paranoids whose User is Ansem the Wise. When he first joins Sora, most of his program functions have been deactivated by the MCP, though they are all eventually restored. He is trying to defeat the MCP and gain access to Ansem's encrypted files. With Sora's help, he eradicates the MCP and makes Hollow Bastion's computer system more User-friendly. Tron also reminds everyone of Hollow Bastion's true name, The Radiant Garden. He is voiced by Bruce Boxleitner in the English version and Hiroshi Tsuchida in the Japanese version.

Sark (サーク, Sāku^?) is a cold-hearted program that obeys the orders of the MCP. He has a power similar to Tron, but he never rebels and always obeys his master due to the fear that he might get deleted. He is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Tetsuo Kanao in the Japanese version.

The MCP is the master control program that administrates all of Space Paranoids. It absorbs any kind of program to keep growing. This growth is affecting all of the Heartless that are roaming around. It was probably upgraded by DiZ's apprentice, Xehanort, during his time in Hollow Bastion. Its growth is temporarily halted when Tron accesses and reencrypts Ansem's files. However, it later hacks into Cid's Claymore defense system and Xehanort's Heartless production facilities to wreak havoc on Hollow Bastion. The MCP is deleted by a special program created by Cid. It is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Ikuya Sawaki in the Japanese version.

In DiZ's Twilight Town, Hayner (ハイネ, Haine^?) was Roxas' best friend. Hayner, headstrong and street smart, and his friends helped Sora and the gang out find the way to the virtual Twilight Town. In DiZ's Twilight Town, Olette (オレット, Oretto^?) was a friend of Roxas'. She is a kind girl. Although she is excited about making memories about her summer vacation, she is concerned about the homework from school. When the real Olette noticed Sora was in possession of a money bag identical to her own, the money bag Roxas was given by the virtual Olette, the pieces began to come together. She is voiced by Jessica Di Cicco in the English version and Yuka Hirasawa in the Japanese version.

Seifer (サイファー, Saifā^?) is a confident, but troublesome kid who lives in Twilight Town. He, Rai, Fuu and Vivi form the group known as "The Twilight Town Disciplinary Committee." He is very unfriendly with almost everyone, even more to those who are just visiting. In DiZ's Twilight Town, Seifer always teases Roxas and company whenever they meet. Seifer is the champion of the Struggle Battle in the real Twilight Town. He is voiced by Will Friedle in the English version and Takehito Koyasu in the Japanese version.

Rai and Fuu are two kids that are in Seifer's "posse." Rai (ライ, Rai^?) is a tough-talking boy who looks up to Seifer. He usually ends his sentences with the phrase, "y'know." Fuu (フウ, Fuu^?) is a calm girl whose few words carry great weight. Her sentences are often only one word long. Rai is voiced by Brandon Adams in the English version and Kazuya Nakai in the Japanese version. Fuu is voiced by Jillian Bowen in the English version and Rio Natsuki in the Japanese version.

Setzer (セッツァー, Settsā^?) is the champion of "The Struggle Battle," in Diz's Twilight Town. He is seldom seen without his many female fans. He is voiced by Crispin Freeman in the English version and Ryotaro Okiayu in the Japanese version.

A young boy who lives in Twilight Town, Vivi (ビビ, Bibi^?) admires Seifer and wants to prove to him that he can be tough as well. In DiZ's Twilight Town, Vivi was one of the abnormalities, as his form was used by the Nobodies on two occasions. He is voiced by Melissa Disney in the English version and Ikue Otani in the Japanese version.

Yen Sid (イェン・シッド, Yen Shiddo^?) is a sorcerer who lives in the Tower and is King Mickey's master. He tells Sora and company about the aftermath of Kingdom Hearts' sealing and the abnormalities that are being caused by Organization XIII and the Nobodies. He does not appear in the game after this point. He is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Takashi Inagaki in the Japanese version.

Flora (フローラ, Furōra^?), Fauna (フォーナ, Fōna^?) and Merryweather (メリーウェザー, Merīwezā^?) are three fairies that are with Yen Sid in the Tower. They are the ones that gave Sora his new attire and the ability known as Drive. In remembering Maleficent, they are also responsible for bringing her back to life. Flora is voiced by Susan Blakeslee in the English version and Miyoko Asō in the Japanese version. Fauna is voiced by Russi Taylor in the English version and Hisako Kyōda in the Japanese version. Merryweather is voiced by Tress MacNeille in the English version and Masako Nozawa in the Japanese version.

The Beast (ビースト, Bīsuto^?) is a prince of a castle who was transformed into a hideous monster because of his selfish heart. Belle helps heal the loneliness he has suffered because of his exile. After Belle is captured by Maleficent, Beast makes his way to Hollow Bastion through sheer force of will. It is there where he teams up with Sora to defeat Maleficent. In Kingdom Hearts II, Beast and Belle have returned to the Beast's Castle. However, he is plagued by his inner darkness brought forth through the Organization's meddling. A bright, beautiful, strong-willed young woman who loves books, Belle (ベル, Beru^?) chose to stay at the Beast's Castle in her father's place. She is also one of the seven Princesses of Heart. Since returning to the castle, she has been worried about the Beast, who has been acting strange. In Kingdom Hearts II, she makes a daring move to regain the Beast's rose and her own safety when Xaldin threatens her. She is voiced by Paige O'Hara in the English version and Eri Ito in the Japanese version.

The Beast's majordomo, Cogsworth (コグスワース, Kogusuwāsu^?) is a proper gentleman who is faithful to his master. Cogsworth was transformed into a pompous clock to match his by-the-book demeanor. He is voiced by David Ogden Stiers in the English version and Kazuo Kumakura in the Japanese version.

Originally the headwaiter in the Beast's court, Lumiere (ルミエール, Rumiēru^?) was transformed into a lovestruck candelabra. He is quite the lighthearted, amorous fellow. He is voiced by Jeff Bennett in the English version and Masashi Ebara in the Japanese version.

Mulan (ムーラン, Mūran^?) is the courageous daughter of the honorable Fa family in The Land of Dragons. She disguises herself as Fa Ping, a young man, and joins the Imperial Army in her father's place. At first, Captain Shang does not believe in his abilities but, joining Sora, Ping proves himself as a strong warrior. However, Ping is later discovered to be Mulan after a slip of the tongue on Mushu's part and Mulan is expelled from the army. However, finding out that the Emperor is still in danger, she rushes to the Imperial City to confront Shan Yu. She is voiced by Ming-Na in the English version and Mayumi Suzuki in the Japanese version.

The feisty guardian dragon of the Fa family, Mushu (ムーシュー, Mūshū^?) joins Mulan on her journey in hopes of making her a war hero. He has a razor-sharp wit. Though he means well, he sometimes gets out of hand, of example, when he reveals Mulan's secret in front of the Captain. Mushu also appears as a summonable character in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain Of Memories. In Kingdom Hearts II, he teams up with Mulan to perform special attacks. He is voiced by Mark Moseley in the English version and Kōichi Yamadera in the Japanese version.

Li Shang (リー・シャン, Rī Shan^?) is the Captain of the Imperial Army troops that Mulan hopes to join. He is the son of the general and his bravery and devotion to his country are unparalleled. After Shan Yu's defeat, the Emperor asks him to be his personal bodyguard. He is voiced by B.D. Wong in the English version and Shintaro Sonooka in the Japanese version.

Yao (ヤオ, Yao^?), Chien-Po (チェン・ポー, Chen Pō^?) and Ling (リン, Rin^?) are three rowdy but good-hearted men who, like Mulan, hope to join the Imperial Army. Yao is voiced by Harvey Fierstein in the English version and Yutaka Oda in the Japanese version. Chien-Po is voiced by Jerry Tondo in the English version and Kōzō Shioya in the Japanese version. Ling is voiced by Gedde Watanabe in the English version and Ryūsei Nakao in the Japanese version.

The Emperor (皇帝, Kōtei^?) is the wise and regal ruler of all China. Riku informs him of the coming threat of a giant Heartless dragon but then reassures him that Sora will come to defeat it. After the defeat of the renegade dragon, Mulan asks him to give Shang a vacation but he refuses, instead letting Mulan join Shang in defending the Emperor. He is voiced by Pat Morita in the English version and Osamu Kobayashi in the Japanese version.

The leader of the invading Hun army, Shan-Yu (シャン・ユー, Shan Yū^?) is cold and cruel; his brutality knows no limits. A hawk always keeps watch on his shoulder. He is voiced by Corey Burton in the English version and Hiroshi Fujioka in the Japanese version.

Simba (シンバ, Shinba^?) is a lion who resides in the Pride Land. He is the son of Mufasa, a former king of the Pride Land. His father was killed during a stampede caused by Simba's uncle, Scar, and Simba ran away from his home, believing his father's death was his fault. At that time, he met Timon and Pumbaa and became friends with them. With Sora's and Mufasa's help, he confronted and defeated Scar who had since become king. Thus, he became the new, rightful ruler of the Pride Land. Besides his appearance in Kingdom Hearts II, he was also in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories as a summonable ally. He is voiced by Cam Clarke with Jonathan Taylor Thomas's archived audio as Young Simba in the English version. He is voiced by Mitsuru Miyamoto in the Japanese version.

Timon and Pumbaa (ティモンとプンバァ, Timon to Punbaa^?) are Simba's best friends. Timon is a smart-alec meerkat who is not as knowledgeable as he believes himself to be. However, he is loyal and always means well. Pumbaa is a lovable warthog who does not smell as well as he would like. They found Simba when the cub ran away and passed out in the desert. Together, they taught him the philosophy of "hakuna matata" or no worries. Timon is voiced by James Arnold Taylor in the English version and Yuji Mitsuya in the Japanese version. Pumbaa is voiced by Ernie Sabella in the English version and Hiroshi Hatanaka in the Japanese version.

Nala (ナラ, Nara^?) is a female lion and a childhood friend of Simba's. Later on, the two are reunited in the jungle after Sora revealed to her that Simba was still alive. Nala is the mother of her and Simba's unborn child. She is voiced by Vanessa Marshall in the English version and Riko Hanamura in the Japanese version.

Mufasa (ムファサ, Mufasa^?) was the former leader of the Pride Land. He also was the father of Simba but was killed during a stampede caused by Scar's minions. He is voiced by James Earl Jones (archived audio) in the English version and Shinya Owada in the Japanese version.

Rafiki (ラフィキ, Rafiki^?) is a wise old mandrill and advisor to the king of the Pride Land. He is also the one who judges young lions to see if they are worthy to become king. He eventually turns Simba back to his rightful path as king of the Pride Land. He is voiced by Robert Guillaume in the English version and Ryuji Saikachi in the Japanese version.

A ruthless lion and Mufasa's brother, Scar (スカー, Sukā^?) controls a pack of hyenas who are his servants. In order to usurp the throne of the Pride Land, he killed Mufasa by causing a stampede. He also made an alliance with Pete in order to stop Simba and Sora from returning. He was defeated, but dark spectres resembling him later returned to prey on Simba's hesitance. He is voiced by James Horan in the English version and Haruhiko Jo in the Japanese version.

[edit] Shenzi, Banzai and Ed

Shenzi, Banzai and Ed are the three most prominent hyenas who work for Scar, in the hope that they will get plenty of food while he is king of the Pride Land. They were the cause of the wildebeest stampede that killed Mufasa and were ordered to kill Simba. However, the lion cub escaped into the desert through a thorn bush before they could get him. The hyenas took it for granted that Simba would die in the desert. Shenzi is voiced by Tress MacNeille in the English version and Tomie Kataoka in the Japanese version. Banzai is voiced by Cheech Marin in the English version and Ben Hiura in the Japanese version. Ed is voiced by Jim Cummings in both versions.

Jack Sparrow (ジャック・スパロウ, Jakku Suparō^?) is a pirate of Port Royal and former captain of the Black Pearl. In order to recover his ship from the ruthless pirate Barbossa, he joins Sora and the others in their fight. He is one of only a handful of people who know the truth of Barbossa's past. He is voiced by James Arnold Taylor in the English version and Hiroaki Hirata in the Japanese version.

Will Turner (ウィリアム・ターナー, Wiriamu Tānā^?) is a blacksmith from Port Royal who has loved Elizabeth since childhood. When he found out that Elizabeth was taken by Barbossa and his crew, he teamed up with Jack Sparrow to rescue her. Will is considered the greatest swordsman from Port Royal. He is voiced by Crispin Freeman in the English version and Daisuke Hirakawa in the Japanese version.

Elizabeth Swann (エリザベス・スワン, Erizabesu Suwan^?) is the daughter of the Governor of Port Royal. She carefully guards a medallion she took as a girl from a young Will Turner, fearing that he was a pirate himself. She is pursued by Barbossa and his crew of pirates who believe she is the key to breaking the curse. She is voiced by Eliza Schneider in the English version and Saori Yumiba in the Japanese version.

Captain Barbossa (バルボッサ船長, Barubossa-senchō^?) is a pirate and the present captain of The Black Pearl. He and his men are cursed by an Aztec treasure that traps them in a perpetual state of unlife. Barbossa pursues Elizabeth because he needs her medallion in order to break the curse. He is voiced by Brian George in the English version and Haruhiko Jo in the Japanese version.
