List of bible colleges

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bible colleges were originally instituted as tertiary education institutions for the purpose of instructing students to prepare them for ordination to Christian ministry (i.e., clergy) or for Christian mission service. However, this original purpose has, in the past few decades, been expanded to include preparing students for work in secular fields. Bible colleges generally confer certificates or undergraduate degrees (i.e. A.A., B.A., B.S., etc.) in biblical studies and Christian ministry/mission. Many Bible colleges also offer supplimentary training and/or degrees in other areas such as education, business and music.

They exist mainly in countries which are largely Protestant. In the United States and Canada, the Association for Biblical Higher Education is one of the recognized accrediting body for Bible colleges and related biblical education institutions.

Seminaries also provide theological education and are also known as theological colleges, particularly in the United Kingdom. They usually offer professional graduate degrees (i.e. M.Div., M.Th., D.Min., etc.).
