[edit] Train Bandit

Small white enemy that appears on train levels in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

[edit] Wiggler-fly

An orange butterfly which came from the wigglers in Super Mario World. It gets mad if jumped on. It appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

[edit] Wild Piranha Pest

The ground variation of the Piranha Pest, it quickly devours Yoshi and then spits him back out, shrinking him as well; the worst part is that Yoshi slides after being spit out (which is dangerous if the Wild Piranha Pest is near a ledge). They appear in Yoshi's Story.

[edit] Wild Piranha Plant

Main article: Piranha Plant

These Piranha Plants appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's island. They are red with white spots, although stationary, they are quite good at hiding themselves. When Yoshi approaches one of these they grow into a larger size and try to eat Yoshi for lunch. If Yoshi tries to squirm out of the piranha plants mouth, the piranha plant will turn yellow and chew on Yoshi to settle him down so it can eat him. They always spit the Yoshi they catch out, but if Kamek's toadies kidnap Baby Mario while Yoshi is stuck inside a Piranha Plant's mouth, the Yoshi will allow the Piranha plant to swallow him and turn him into plant food for some reason. These creatures are the second worst enemies of Yoshi, Shyguys being the worst enemy of the Yoshi species. In a Yoshi's island Commercial, a Blue Yoshi gets eaten by a Piranha plant and spat out, this can be viewed at: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-1837791940286793189&q=Yoshi%27s+Island+Commercial

[edit] Wild Ptooie Plant

This variation of Piranha Plant is similar to the Wild Piranha plant only Green in color and spits needlenoses at Yoshi instead of trying to eat him. They require three hits to destroy and change from Green to yellow to red to indicate their health.

[edit] Woozy Guy

A jumping version of the Shy Guy. Appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

[edit] Yellow Worm

A rare worm-like enemy in Yoshi's Story.

[edit] Zeus Guy

A Bandit-like enemy, can shoot out powered up energy balls, and seems to think of Yoshi as a punching bag, can only be hurt with items. Appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
