List of United States First Ladies by Longevity

97 years 247 days Bess Truman lived the longest of all First Ladies.

Alice Hathaway Lee Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt's first wife, lived to be only 22 years old. She died the same day as Roosevelt's mother.

This is a list of U.S. First Ladies by longevity. Women who were married to the President, but never were the wife of a sitting President, due to death or divorce before the Presidency, or due to remarriage after the Presidency, are also listed. Where the person in question is still living, the longevity is calculated up to December 1, 2006.^[1]

Two measures of the longevity are given - this is to allow for the differing number of leap days occurring within the life of each First Lady. The first column is the number of days between date of birth and date of death, allowing for leap days; the second column breaks this number down into years and days, with the years being the number of whole years the First Lady lived, and the days being the remaining number of days after her last birthday.
