[edit] Full-Blooded Saiyans
[edit] Bardock
Bardock is the father of Kakarot and Raditz, and a loyal Saiyan warrior. He greatly resembled Goku. He is part of the reason Freiza destroyed Planet Vegeta, due to his power becoming quite great just by destroying the inhabitants of planets. He was cursed with the ability to see the future and sensed the destruction of Planet Vegeta. He failed to defeat Freiza, but as he had seen in a vision right before his death, many years later his son Son Goku succeeded where he could not.
His name is taken from the herb called "burdock".
[edit] Burdock's Team
[edit] Panbukin
(FUNimation's dub: Shugesh)
The fat, quick-tempered member of Burdock's team. He is injured whilst battling in Oozaru, and retaliates by crushing the alien that hit him, who, before dying, gave Burdock the ability to see the future. On Planet Meat, he is killed by a group of Freeza's underlings, including Dodoria.
His name is a pun on "pumpkin".
[edit] Seripa
Alternate Names: Celipa, Fasha (FUNimation's dub).
The only female member of Burdock's crew. After Burdock is attacked by one of the last surviving members of Kanassa, Seripa and others decided to return him back to their homeworld Planet Vegeta so that he could be healed. After hearing that there is some possible damage in his brainwave patterns they've decided to leave without him to destroy the inhabitants on Planet Meat as their next assignment. After reaching Meat they immediately destroy all of its natives, but before they could celebrate the moment, she and the rest of the team were ambushed and killed by a group of Freeza's henchmen on his orders, including Dodoria. She resembles a ruder and more muscular version of Videl.
Her name is a pun on the vegetable "parsley".
[edit] Toma
(FUNimation's dub: Tora)
A tall masculine member of Burdock's team. He's the only person Burdock gets a chance to talk to when he finds his group slaughtered by Dodoria and some of Freeza's underlings. The bloodstained headband that Burdock wears was worn by Toma as an armband when he was still alive. Burdock removed it from him after his death and wore it as a headband honoring his team. Burdock and Toma were best friends.
His name is a pun off of "tomato".
[edit] Totapo
(FUNimation's dub: Borgos)
A large, balding member of Burdock's team; often keeping to himself when not eating or on missions. Like his teammates, he is killed while on assignment on Planet Meat by Dodoria's crew, per Freeza's orders.
His name is an anagram on "potato".
[edit] Broly
A Saiyan that was born on the same day as Goku, he bore a deep grudge towards him, so much that it drove him insane. He was born with a power level of 10,000. His grudge is fueled by the fact Goku wouln't stop crying when they were babies, and Broly was right next to him.
His name is a pun on "broccoli".
[edit] Bio-Broly
A bio-engineered clone of Broly that becomes disfigured by containment slime and wreaks havoc in an island laboratory in DBZ Movie #11, Super-Warrior Defeat!! I'm the One Who'll Win. Bio-Broly is eventually defeated when ocean water causes him to solidify and turn to stone by chemical compounds, after which Son Goten and Trunks blow him up.
[edit] King Vegeta
The king of all Saiyans and the father of Vegeta. He was said to be one of the strongest Saiyans in his time, but is definitely not the strongest Saiyan ever, as his son surpassed him even as a child. King Vegeta realized that Freeza had no further use for the Saiyans and no longer needed them around. After trying to oppose Freeza and attack him, King Vegeta is killed with a single blow to his chin. In the movie Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan, he ordered both Broly and his father Paragus' assassination because he was afraid of the child's growing power level.
King Vegeta is only seen in the anime special , Movie 8, and some filler episodes. King Vegeta's appearance is never shown nor described in the manga, but he is mentioned briefly in a dialogue from Freeza to Vegeta in the original manga.
His name, like his son, is a pun on "vegetable".
[edit] Kollifum
An anime-filler Saiyan, Kollifum is a tall, muscular Saiyan with long brown hair and greyish skin. In the Saiyan Saga, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Kuririn and Chaozu use the Pendulum Room to travel to the past and fight two Saiyans to prepare for the arrivals of Nappa and Vegeta. Kollifum, along with Saegi, encounters the four warriors until they are ultimately defeated after putting up a valiant but futile fight.
His name is a pun on "cauliflower".
[edit] Nappa
A large bald Saiyan warrior who bears an uncanny resemblance to wrestler Bill Goldberg, Nappa was Vegeta's partner during the Saiyan Saga. Nappa is introduced as an almost invincible warrior with a terrible rage. During his battle with the Earth's defenders, Chaozu, Tenshinhan and Piccolo were killed. When Nappa was defeated by Goku though, Vegeta personally finished Nappa off for his weakness. In Dragonball GT, he returns from Hell to obliterate an entire city, but is confronted by Vegeta, who kills him easily, once again. Vegeta: "Pathetic, Nappa. Dead all these years and you haven't changed a bit."
His name is a pun on "nappa".
[edit] Onio
Onio is a short fat Saiyan from the parody Neko Majin Z. He comes to Earth in a spaceship that reads "Just Marriage" (An Engrish version of "Just Married), and tells his wife he's thinking of making the planet their summer home. When Z sees them land, he decides they must be Japanese tourists, and puts on a Koala suit. Z tricks Onio and his wife into getting their picture taken, but grabs the wife's right breast while the picture is being taken. Onio notices this, and transforms into a Super Saiyan. After a short battle, Z transforms, and says now he's a "Super Neko Majin". The two continue to fight for a while, and Z beats him with a "NekoHameHa". Onio's wife drags him to the ship, and the two leave Earth.
Onio later comes back to Earth with Kuriza, and says how Kuriza is the strongest warrior in the universe, so it appears that Onio is Kuriza's henchman. Onio sticks around on Earth for a while to watch Kuriza fight Z and to play soccer.
His name is a pun on "onion".
[edit] Paragus
The father of Broly, both of whom despised King Vegeta (and by proxy, his son). When Freeza destroyed Planet Vegeta, Broly used a sphere of his own power to protect himself and Paragus, and transport them to another planet. Paragus raised Broly, and eventually had a scientist create a headband capable of restraining, and controlling Broly's rage and power. He later came up with a plan to get revenge on Vegeta, but failed due to Broly breaking the headband and going berserk. He was killed by Broly who threw his escape pod into a comet. Paragus also makes a cameo appearance in Movie 12 as a villain in the background behind Freeza after they escape from hell.
His name is a pun on "asparagus".
[edit] Raditz
The blood brother of Son Goku. He is evil, and came to Earth to see why Goku hadn't destroyed the planet's inhabitants yet. After discovering Goku had become peaceful after falling on his head as a baby, Raditz kidnapped Gohan as blackmail to make Goku kill 100 humans so that he would lose his inhibitions towards killing. At this time, he was stronger than Goku, and it took a team effort of Goku and Piccolo (with assistance from Gohan) to defeat him.
His name is a pun on "radish".
[edit] Saegi
An anime-filler Saiyan, Saegi is a short, bald Saiyan with navy blue hair around his head and two scratches on his face. In the Saiyan Saga, Tien, Yamcha, Krillin and Chiaotzu use the Pendulum Room to travel through time and face two Saiyans from the past. Saegi, along with his friend Kollifum, battles the four warriors until they are all ultimately defeated after putting up a valiant but futile fight.
His name is a pun on "sage".
[edit] Son Goku
Son Goku has two sons named Son Gohan and Son Goten. Goku is believed to be the most powerful being in the entire universe. His father's name was Burdock and his brother is Raditz. Goku possessed all the Dragonballs at the end of DBGT when he was taken by the Shenlong. Son Goku was the first to become super saiyan 4, (achieved later on in the story by Vegeta, using a wave created by Bulma because of his missing tail). During the Buu saga, he was brought to life for a limited time to fight Buu. After his time was up, Elder Kai gave his life in place for Goku's.
His Saiyan birthname is Kakarotto (Kakarot in the English anime, and Kakarrot in the manga), which is a pun off the vegetable "carrot".
[edit] Tullece
A Saiyan mercenary who plans to use Earth as nourishment for the Tree of Might in DBZ Movie #3, The Tree of Might. He bears a striking resemblance to Goku.
His name is a pun on "lettuce".
[edit] Vegeta
The Prince of Saiyans, he is initially an enemy who eventually sides with the Z Fighters. Constantly at odds with Son Goku, Vegeta is disgusted with the fact that he, an elite Saiyan soldier, is frequently out-classed by a low-level. Ultimately, following Goku, he achieves the level of Super Saiyan 4 (although only with the help of Bulma's machine; the Bruits Ray). One of the strongest warriors in the entire universe, despite never reaching Super Saiyan 3.
His name is a pun on "vegetable".
[edit] Partial Saiyans
[edit] Bra
The daughter of Vegeta and Bulma.
[edit] Future Gohan
Goku and Chichi's son from the alternate future where Future Trunks came. Despite becoming a Super Sayian, he is killed by Androids #17 and #18.
[edit] Future Trunks
Vegeta and Bulma's future offspring who goes back in time to save Goku and warn the Z-fighters of an upcoming threat.
[edit] Pan
The daughter of Gohan and Videl. She is 1/4 Saiyan blood.
[edit] Son Gohan
First-born son of Goku and Chi-Chi. He is the first one who ascended to the level of Super Saiyan 2 and the only one who achieved the Mystic state. After the Kid Buu saga, he stopped training and never reached his full potential but he remained significantly powerful.
[edit] Son Goku Jr.
Son Goku Jr. is Son Goku's great-great grandson (Pan's grandson). Goku Jr. is very timid, and would run away from situations like being bullied. He would not do anything to retrieve what was stolen from him. He is seen once at the end of Dragon Ball GT, fighting in what may be the 64th Tenka-ichi Budōkai against a distant descendant of Vegeta's, Vegeta Jr. He also appears in the final Dragon Ball Special, A Hero's Legacy, in which he meets Goku. He is 1/16th Saiyan and has the power to become Super Saiyan, even with his diluted Saiyan blood.
His gi resembles Goku's, with the exception of having blue pants and a teal shirt underneath his vest (though in the finale of Dragon Ball GT, he wore Goku's preserved, ancient gi). Goku Jr.'s hair is in the same style, shape and form of Goku's. His hair and eye color are both black. His headband is red, which makes it resemble the headband Bardock wore before he took on Freeza to defend the Saiyan race from eradication. His skin color resembles Son Gohan's; milky white or very lightly tanned. The only notable difference between him and Goku and/or Goten is his face, which more resembles his mother's side of the family.
[edit] Son Goten
Second-born son of Goku and Chi-Chi. He and his best friend Trunks were the first to reach Super Saiyan 1, still as children.
[edit] Trunks
The son of Vegeta and Bulma. He and his best friend Son Goten were the first to reach Super Saiyan 1, still as children.
[edit] Vegeta Jr.
Vegeta Jr. is a descendant of Vegeta, seen once at the end of Dragon Ball GT. He is much like Vegeta in name and attitude. He fights in the Tenka-ichi Budōkai against Son Goku's great-great grandson, Son Goku Jr.
He is the great great grandson of Vegeta and Bulma. He enters a tournament and his challenger is Son Goku Jr. When Vegeta Jr. first sees Goku Jr., he says: "Hey punk, are those rags you're wearing?". He proves to be just like Vegeta. The two competitiors are matched equally. Vegeta Jr. lands and goes Super Saiyan and when he sees Goku Jr. do it too, he says "I didn't know we both could go blonde", which leads us to believe that they don't know the actual name for the form.
Note that there is some doubt as to his lineage: he could be descended from either Trunks or Bra, with little evidence providing a substantial case for either. It seems more logical to assume, based on his mother's hair color, that he is Bra's great-grandson, and not Trunks'.
[edit] Fusions
[edit] Denderotto & Gotan
(Denderotto is used in the tenth daizenshuu, but the form is never named in the anime.)
Denderotto and Gotan are both fantasy fusions in Dragon Ball Z. Denderotto is the fantasy fusion of Goku and Dende, and Gotan is the fantasy fusion of Goku and Mr. Satan. Both fusions use the Potara earrings. While Denderotto is only shown in the anime, thanks to Goku's imagination, Gotan is in both the manga and the anime, and is an unlockable in the video game Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2. The english versions of the names are Denderot and Gokule (Because Kakarotto is named Kakarot and Mr. Satan is named Hercule).
[edit] Gogeta
Gogeta is the result of the fusion dance between Son Goku and Vegeta. Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is said to be the strongest character in any of the series. Gogeta can stay fused for 30 minutes, while Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta can only stay fused for 15 minutes.
[edit] Gotenks
Gotenks is the result of the fusion dance between Son Goten and Trunks.
[edit] Vegetto
Vegetto is the result of fusion between Vegeta and Son Goku via the Potara fusion earrings.
