[edit] Cancelled
The Nintendo 64 had a relatively large number of planned games cancelled, the main reason for this was that the Nintendo 64's installed user base was small compared to Sony's PlayStation console. This led to many 3rd party publishers dropping the Nintendo 64 versions of their games.
The following is a list of the more notable cancelled games for the Nintendo 64. (see List of canceled video games#64 and 64DD for a more comprehensive list).
- Air Boardin' USA (released as Air Boarder 64 in Japan and Europe)
- 40 Winks
- Dinosaur Planet (released as Star Fox Adventures on the GameCube)
- EarthBound 64 (vapourware)
- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest, The (released on a preorder bonus disk free with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on the GameCube)
- Kirby Air Ride (Later released on the Gamecube)
- Major League Soccer
- Mega Man Legends 2 (Sequel to Mega Man 64)
- Mother 3 (US name was EarthBound 64.)
- Resident Evil Zero (Later released on the Gamecube)
- Robotech: Crystal Dreams
- X-Men (Nintendo 64 game)
