List of Lieutenant Governors of Virginia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of Lieutenant Governors of Virginia since 1852 when the government of Virginia had several reforms, including the addition of a Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. From 1776-1851, there was a Council of State whose president would fill any vacancy left by the Governor of Virginia. During the colonial era in Virginia, the nominal Lieutenant Governor often served as the acting governor. See the list of colonial governors of Virginia for these lieutenant governors.
