  • For terrestrial broadcasts, a licence fee of ¥1395 per month or ¥15490 per annum pays for the NHK channels.
  • For satellite broadcasts, the NHK licence fee is ¥2340 per month or ¥26100 per annum.
  • WOWOW is the only pay TV station listed above. Apart from WOWOW and certain premium data services, the only fees for digital satellite television are the NHK licence fee and equipment costs. This corresponds roughly to the situation of Freeview in the United Kingdom.
