List of Irish loughs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of Irish loughs in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
"Lough" is used in Ireland as the anglicised form of the Irish-language word Loch, which is the same as "loch", as used in Scotland.
There are many minor bodies of water in Ireland, the majority of which are named loughs. The list below contains only those loughs which are of geographic, geological or historical importance.
