[edit] Primary Interstate Highways

Interstate 29 Goes north-south between the South Dakota border at Sioux City to Missouri along the Missouri River.
Interstate 35 Goes north-south between the Iowa-Minnesota border near Albert Lea, Minnesota to Missouri.
Interstate 74 Starts at Interstate 80 at Davenport and enters Illinois six miles later at the Mississippi River
Interstate 80 Goes east-west between Omaha, Nebraska and Illinois at the Quad Cities.

Interstate 129 In Iowa for less than a mile, continues west into Nebraska at Sioux City.
Interstate 235 Travels through downtown Des Moines and West Des Moines for 14 miles.
Interstate 280 Southern bypass around the Quad Cities. Leaves Iowa at the Mississippi River.
Interstate 380 Connects Waterloo and Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Interstate 80.
Interstate 480 In Iowa for less than a mile, continues west into Nebraska at Council Bluffs.
Interstate 680 Northern bypass of Omaha. Multiplexed with Interstate 29 for almost 10 miles.
