From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is inevitably impossible to come up with definitive proof about whether some people were Jewish. However, it has often been suggested that Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra and Christopher Columbus were of Jewish ancestry, and that this ancestry had an important effect on Cervantes' writings and Columbus' life and career.

- Research published in 2004 suggests that Columbus was not Jewish [2], [3], though even the expert quoted in these sources agrees that it is not conclusive: "It's quite possible that his ancestors were from elsewhere and may have had a different religion." [4].
