This is an episode list for the American television show Home Improvement. The show aired its pilot on September 17, 1991, and continued throughout its eight season tenure with high ratings, and aired its finale on May 25, 1999.
The show focused on the lives of the Taylors, and consisted of Tim Taylor (Tim Allen), who is the main role, as he is infatuated with tools, cars, and sports. He has his own tool show, called Tool Time, in which he had Al Borland (Richard Karn), as his assistant. Usually throughout the series, Al was the favorite one of the duo in the favor of the fans, because he appeared to be organized and seemed to know a lot more about tools and safety regulations that applied to them, far more than Tim's knowledge. Al was also the one to set Tim straight in his mishaps, and as on Tool Time, Tim would make poor jokes, reacting in one of Al's most-used quotes on the show, "I don't think so, Tim."
Tim's wife, Jill (Patricia Richardson), was very naive in the tool area, and would utilize Tim's tools for various acts, such as using a tool to unclog the drain, or to crack ice. As she tried to take care of their three kids, Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan), Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), and Mark (Taran Noah Smith), Jill struggled to get a job. Usually, Tim and Jill would pull off little plans to outsmart their two trouble-making kids, Brad and Randy. Mark in the beginning of the show's start, was a bright, young kid, who was picked on by his two older brothers, and his dad being his idol. As the show progressed, this persona quickly reversed, into a more mature Mark, and a more mature Brad and Randy, as well.
Currently, the show is still in syndication. It is shown on weekdays on TBS and WGN. It can also be seen in the UK on ABC1 and on the Disney Channel. Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite, will be airing Home Improvement in the fall of 2007.
