List of Australian rodents

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of Australian rodents. Australia has a large number of indigenous rodents, all from the Family Muridae. The Black Rat, Brown Rat and House Mouse were accidentally introduced to Australia with European settlement. Note: where author and date of original description appears in brackets, this indicates that the describer placed the species in a genus different from the one here assigned (Strahan, 1995).
