Lisianthus

- This article is about the anime character Lisianthus; the plant genus formerly called Lisianthus is now called Eustoma.
Lisianthus (リシアンサス Rishiansasu?), or Sia (シア Shia?) for short, is a character from the H game and anime Shuffle!. She is the princess of the god world attending Verbana Academy and came to the human world as a possible marriage candidate for Rin Tsuchimi. Though poorly skilled at academics, she has excellent cooking skills. Her magical capability is poor, but she makes up for it with brute force by hitting people with objects ranging from chairs to tables. She first met Rin when they were about 8 years old. Sia was separated from her father, and was crying. Rin cheered her up and kept her company until her father found her. It was at this point that she fell in love with him.
Lisianthus is the only daughter of Eustoma and Cineraria, making her actually half-god, half-devil, but she only inherited the god racial characteristics of her father. Through Cineraria, she is Forbesii's niece and Nerine's cousin.
The characters of Shuffle! have a theme of being named in reference to flowers. Lisianthus' name is in reference to what used to be known as the Lisianthus genus of flowering plants. The genus is now known as Eustoma, which is her father's name.
Lisianthus is voiced by Sayaka Aoki and was designed by Aoi Nishimata.

[edit] Kikyou
Kikyou (キキョウ Kikyō?), also referred to as 'Reverse Sia' (裏シア Ura Shia), is Sia's younger twin sister.[1] While still in their mother's womb, it was determined that Kikyou wouldn't be able to survive. In order to save her sister, Sia absorbed Kikyou's soul into her own body. As a consequence, Sia has developed a dissociative identity disorder, and Kikyou's personality sometime emerges.
While Sia inherited her father's god traits, Kikyou is the devil side of Sia's split heritage and resides in Sia's unconscious.[2]
When Kikyou takes control of the body, there is a slight physical change in her appearance. Kikyou narrows her eyes more than Sia and has her eyebrows set lower. Personality wise, Kikyou is much more foward and aggressive than Sia is.
In Japanese, kikyō (桔梗) refers to the Chinese bellflower.

Lisianthus has two personalities because when she was in her mother's womb, her twin sister Kikyou (キキョウ) couldn't survive. Sia decided to save Kikyou by putting her soul inside of her own. Kikyou emerges (takes control of Sia's body) when Sia is depressed or when she feels that Sia should be more aggressive on Rin. After meeting Rin again in high school, Rin started to date her. His care for others girls, however, starts to bother her as well as Kikyou. Kikyou then takes over Sia's body for a little while and makes aggressive advances on Rin. This ploy, however, fails, as Rin remarks that she is not acting like her usual self. Sia eventually tells Rin about Kikyou, and clears up the confusion. She also confesses to Rin that although he doesn't love her back, she will keep on loving him because the gods believe in polygamy(i.e a man can have many wives). She tells this to Itsuki when rejecting his advances.
