[edit] Reclassification of genus Liposarcus
Liposarcus has been classified as a sub-genera of Pterygoplichthys. It has also been suggested that the sub-genera be discarded and some members of this genus classified as a clan of Pterygoplichthys. Before reclassification Liposarcus was a distinct genus of the family Loricariidae.
