Line C (Czech: Linka C) is a line on Prague Metro. Construction was started in 1966 on underground rapid tram line. One year later, project was changed to metro. First segment of the system was triumphantly opened on May 9, 1974. The line continued to be expanded, mostly during the early 1980s, and is recently being actively extended once again. Construction of another extension now progresses further to the north-east, to connect the city center to the large housing blocks in Prosek. Three more stations (Střížkov, Prosek and Letňany) are planned to open in 2008.
