FBI Seal - Public Domain

This image is a work of a Federal Bureau of Investigation employee, taken or made during the course of an employee's official duties. As a work of the U.S. federal government, the image is in the public domain.

It appears to be the work of a federal official acting in his or her official capacity; it is referred to as the FBI poster, and is clearly a document intended for furthering a criminal investigation. Also, it is a published work dated in 1932, with no copyright notice. All of these factors indicate to me that this item is public domain.

It could also be argued that it is a "unique historical image which we cannot reproduce by other means", and is iconic of the "Crime of the Century". --SamClayton 10:40, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
