Life imitating art is the reverse of the normal process whereby art is made to resemble life.

It has been reported that the prevalence of CSI and other crime investigation TV shows have changed criminal behavior. For example, the use of bleach to destroy DNA evidence has increased, as a result.
It has also been reported that the prevelance of CSI and similar TV shows have changed jurist behavior - juries now often expect CSI-like rock-solid evidence before considering a guilty verdict, despite the fact that such evidence is rare in criminal proceedings.
In the video game, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, a North Korean missile was fired into the Sea of Japan on July 4, 2007, sinking a ship. On July 4, 2006 the real world North Korea launched a missile into the Sea of Japan, although no one as harmed.
In a commercial for the video game Madden NFL 07, Dallas Clark of the Indianapolis Colts catches a pass on a crossing route and gets wrapped up by Philadelphia Eagles' safety Brian Dawkins. As Clark gets spun around, defensive end Darren Howard comes into view and pummels Clark who falls flat on his back. On November 26, 2006, Dallas Clark suffered an injury and limped off the field just before halftime in a game versus the Eagles.
