Life is a Circus, Charlie Brown is one of many prime-time animated TV specials based upon the popular comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. It was originally aired on the CBS network in 1980.
The circus is in town, and Charlie Brown and the others go to see the acts. Snoopy falls in love with one of the trained poodles in the circus, and finds himself joining up and performing with her under the name Hugo. Initially, he is popular, but soon the dog keeper finds that they are not as popular, and decides that they must dye Snoopy and the poodle pink. Snoopy runs away and takes her with him, but she soon returns to the circus because it's all she knows. Snoopy returns home, drowning his sorrows in food.
