Lieutenant Anjo is a minor fictional character from film version of Battle Royale, played by Gou Ryugawa.

He is a short man who wears glasses and appears to be second in command on Okishima Island after Kitano. Anjo talks in a few scenes to Kitano and informs him that Kazuo Kiriyama is taken by Mitsuru Numai. Anjo also grabs the bag of cookies that Noriko Nakagawa made and that Kitano is constantly eating throughout the film; Kitano snatches them back.

Anjo leaves the Island with the rest of the soldiers that where based on the Island during the Program and is not around to witness Kitano's death.

Anjo returns in the sequel Battle Royale II: Requiem in the same position as the first film but has an even smaller role; Anjo stands in the background. The film does not reveal Anjo's fate.
