Lierne is a municipality in the Norwegian county of Nord-Trøndelag.

The cross-country race Flyktingerennet is arranged here every year. It is a race following the same route as the runaways did when escaping Nazi-occupied Norway for Sweden during the Second World War.

In Norway, the municipality is mainly known for its bears. Though the bear stock in Lierne is low compared to the bear stock in neighbouring Sweden, the sheep farmers consider them a recurring problem.

Between 1915 and 1964 Lierne was divided into two municipalities, Nordli and Sørli.
