I visited Rosslyn a few years ago, fascinating place full of very rich symbolism, the engraved quote you mention is apparently mirrored in one of the degrees which I'm not a member of. The text is on an arch near the Apprentice Pillar, as I remember. ALR 09:37, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Fascinating. But have you seen this initiation carving, too? This controversial Robert Lomas writes it's in the South West corner of the Chapel.
I've heard on TV that this Knight Templar stone was found outside the chapel, but I couldn't find estimations how old it is. I don't remember specifically seeing an initiation carving, but there is so much to see in there it'd be easy to have seen it. As to the Termplar stone, there doesn't appear to be any wear on it, compared with the stone behind it, and the cuts are far cleaner that I would attribute to the age of the chapel. Personally I'm not keen on the use of Regularity and would tend to agree that women should be free to beome Freemasons, but equally I know that the different mixes in a lodge create different ritual experiences. I'm not convinced that the current situation is sustainable, but it's a useful discussion to have. I'm particularly disappointed by some who refuse to recognise other forms of Freemaosnry at all, although that seems less prevalent now than it did in the past. I did some work on the regularity article and it would be useful to have some input from your perspective, to provide some balance.ALR 09:37, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Since some of our members were formerly "regular" Masons, they had more positive than negative experiences with that. But even if it would be problematic, this would be a chance to work on myself. It doesn't matter for me if somebody is black or white, green or blue or is or was a woman or prefers to be homosexual. Being diffent and dealing with it results in being tolerant. The unknown causes anxiety. A fellow craft Mason (same word as journeyman in Germany) travels much, sees and learns a lot from unknown things, has to handle it, loses agitation.

- Of course, there's almost no difference. Most of my brothers of my lodge were regular Freemasons before. We try to realize liberty, equality, fraternity, tolerance and humanity. Non-UGLE Grand Lodges accept every (hu)man, of any kind, any sex and religion "in which all Man agree" which includes atheists, since nobody would deny a "highest creative order" like those physical laws that create order out of chaos.
- And if a "regular" mason wants to visit non-UGLE Lodges, he's always welcome since he is a brother as all freemasons are brothers, of course.

- In the Muslim world, this inconsistent conspiracy theory is based on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion which is still widely spread and taken serious (i.e. Charta of the Hamas: Article 32) although it is known to be a poor fake. The German article about the Protocols says that there are about 60 different arabic editions of the Protocols and that there was even a TV series in Egypt in 2002 that was based on the Protocols and was broadcasted again in 2004 by a Lebanese Hizbollah TV sender. Ideas and theories spread. Good and bad. Brains work with patterns. Conspiracy theories are easy patterns of the world that manipulate people to get a selective perception. Hi. I hope that cutting World War II from before 1948 is OK? I think just the date is OK? As you can see I'm being rather bullied by other editors @ Freemasonry. I wish they would try to edit for a better article in a positive way. I cannot understand supposed "Masons" who edit as if they are anti-freemasonry? It is more upsetting (though I would not let them see) since "Imacomp" my Father, is currently in Hospital - and they try to say that I'm a sock of him. I do have the same IP address, as I live in the same House as him, my Mother - and the Office of our business ( in which I, they, and 2 other brothers work) I'm reluctant to say more, as I really do not know why I need to justify editing Wiki.
