Liberty Lake, Washington (City)

The City of Liberty Lake is the general municipal government for Liberty Lake, Washington. It was incorporated on August 31, 2001 as a mayor-council noncharter code city.
Its first mayor was Steve Peterson. The interim council consisted of:
- Mayor Pro Tempore Scott Barnhard,
- Dave Crump,
- Judi Owens,
- Dennis Paul,
- Brian A. Sayrs,
- Tim Shea, and
- Wendy Van Orman.
During the interim term, Councilmember Bernhard was succeeded by Patrick Jenkins (and Councilmember Crump became mayor pro tempore), and Councilmember Shea was succeeded by Joanna Klegin.
The mayor and all councilmembers were reelected as the First City Council in November 2003. Councilmembers Paul, Sayrs, and Klegin were unopposed and reelected for a four-year term in November 2005.
In February 2006, Patrick Jenkins became the latest mayor pro tempore.
