Liberty High School, Carroll County, Maryland

Liberty High School (LHS) is a four-year public high school in Eldersburg in Carroll County, Maryland, United States.
The school, which opened 1980, is a part of Carroll County Public Schools. The first graduating class was the year 1980. In 2005, it had an enrollment of 1,230 students.
Liberty High School's mascot is a lion. It is represented as an African lion; in comparison, Penn State College's mascot, the Nittany Lions, is shown as a mountain lion, a species native to the United States. The school's colors are blue and gold, or more accurately blue and yellow. The school motto is "Strive for excellence".

With the exception of the football program, the athletic program at Liberty High School has been extrememly successful the past few years. Recently, Liberty has won three consecutive cross country state titles and two of the last three volleyball state championships finishing as the runner up the third year. They also won the state title in baseball within the last few years and most recently, the mens 2A state soccer championship. They also have individual champions in wrestling, high jump, and have been close to winning the state championship in men's lacrosse in recent years as well.
