Liberation Day Monument

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ghana's Liberation Day monument stands in honor of several veterans of the Burma campaign, during the Second World War, in which they fought for Britain. After returning to Ghana, some protested peacefully and were en route to the Christiansborg Castle, the seat of government, when they were shot to death.
