Backyard photo of Lee Oswald taken in March 1963. Permission given by W. Tracy Parnell to use image on 22 March 2003. The photo was Warren Commission exhibit 133-A. See Warren Commission Hearings, Vol. XVI, p. 510 for more. The source for this version is http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/parnell/backyard.htm.

Here is the back-story as I remember it for this image. I wrote the owner of the site listed above. I asked for the OK to use this image. He granted the permission, but said he thought the photo was PD. After his message, I uploaded this image and tagged it as such. Back in March of '03 I was unsure of the c/right status. Since then a full three years later has passed since the upload. I am still unsure. I hope this helps someone. - Thanks, Hoshie | Grand Union Flag 08:13, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

This photo, showing Oswald wielding a rifle, a handgun, and the newspapers The Militant and The Worker, was one of three allegedly taken on March 31, 1963 in the backyard of his Dallas home by his wife Marina. The Warren Commission labeled this photo as exhibit 133-A. Oswald claimed he was being set up as a "patsy" and that the photograph was a fake. After examining these allegations, the House Select Committee on Assassinations held in the 1970s that it was genuine. The photograph remains controversial.
