Lex (Lex Staley) and Terry (Terry Jaymes) are two syndicated morning drive radio hosts originating from Dallas, Texas on KDGE 102.1.

The show airs live from 6am - 11am every weekday. As of November 28th, 2005, Lex and Terry can also be heard on XM Satellite Radio Channel 152 - EXTREME xm. The show on XM airs from 11am-4pm Eastern. A daily podcast of the complete program is available via iTunes and other podcast clients.

The show was conceived and hosted for over a decade in Jacksonville, Florida, airing on WFYV 104.5. After a contract dispute with Cox Communications (who wanted more control over the show than the hosts were willing to give), Lex and Terry left Cox and signed with Clear Channel.

Lex and Terry were off the air in Jacksonville for four months beginning in October 2005 because of a 'non-compete' clause in their contract with Cox Communications. On February 1st, 2006, Lex and Terry returned to the Jacksonville airwaves on Planet Radio 107.3 (WPLA-FM/Clear Channel).

Lex is the host with the most radio experience, and has spent the majority of his adult life in a radio job in some form or another. He has hosted and produced numerous shows in his history. After difficulty finding a co-host for a new morning show, Lex asked his friend Terry to join him.

Terry, due to his imposing height, played basketball while he attended college.

Both Lex and Terry are married, and reside in Dallas, Texas. While Lex is a father of one, Terry and his wife have no intentions of having children.

While the focus of the show generally revolves around offering advice to callers, there are other activities performed on the show which occur to entertain.

  • "Drunk Bitch Friday" or "DBF" - One of the more infamous bits on the show, during which a female listener joined the boys to get drunk and thereby provide entertainment. The bit was highly popular, but both the hosts and their executive producer felt the bit wasn't quite what it was supposed to be, and announced that it would end on January 20th, 2006. Drunk Bitch Friday generated a bit of controversy during its run. One station, WRUF of Gainesville, FL, an affiliate from the University of Florida, refused to broadcast the live feed for DBF, opting to play "best of" clips instead as part of a wider campaign to curb on-campus drinking. Once DBF was discontinued, WRUF returned the live show to its Friday morning broadcast.
  • "Who's More Pathetic" - Various simple-minded listeners are called, and given a series of questions by the hosts, and occasionally by "newschick" Kim. After a few rounds of questions, other listeners vote for who they feel is the "most pathetic."
  • "The Paging Game" - A member of the Lex and Terry staff visits a local store and attempts to get an unusual name paged over the paging system of the store. "Lou Sainis", for example. Recently Dee has done this bit.
  • "Out of Context" - The show's producer, Scott Richards, gathers various phrases which were uttered in the time between the last Out of Context segment. The phrases are stripped of their context, and while innocent when said, can be interpreted as perverse.
  • "900 numbers" - Using a sound board of various celebrity figures (including Bill O'Riley, Homer Simpson, and Napoleon Dynamite) Lex and Terry call a phone sex number, as the hosts attempt to confuse and bewilder the girl on the other line. (The bit was discontinued as of 8/23/2006 when it was added to Lex and Terry's "Hall of Fame". The reason given for the cancellation was that the operators were starting to catch on.)
  • "The Applicant" - With consent from a business' owner, or operating manager, staff member Dee is brought in for a fake interview, to be conducted by a member of a business seeking to fill a position. The quirk of the bit is that Dee is given instructions on how to behave by the show's hosts. Usually he is to be disrespectful, or made to seem like an ex-convict.
  • "Lex and Terry of Hollywood" - Five female listeners call the show, and privately divulge their cut and color of underwear. One type is chosen to be guessed by the questioner. Then, by asking questions unrelated to clothing, the questioner, typically Lex or Terry, will attempt to determine which woman is wearing that particular type of underwear.
  • "Is Cindy There" - Dee drives to a random home and honks his horn until occupant comes out to investigate. Dee asks the question "Is Cindy there?" and is usually greeted with anger from the residents.
  • "To Smell the Truth" - Various foul smelling items are collected, everyone takes turns smelling them, and the worst smelling item is voted on. Recently, a pair of underwear worn by a homeless man was voted the most foul.
  • "The Race Card" - Dee goes to a location, and acts very cordial until the hosts tell him to "play it," which causes Dee to fly into a string of accusations aimed at racial discrimination.
  • "I Don't Want That No Mo" - Dee goes into an establishment (usually a fast food restaurant) buys a product, uses it (for example he takes a bite of a chicken biscuit), and then hassles to get his money back by saying "I don't want that no mo".
  • "Meal or No Meal" - A parody of the Deal or No Deal gameshow, a homeless person could win a hotel room for a night, and a meal at the restaurant of his or her choosing. Or the contestant could walk away with two skittles.
  • "The Fart Machine" - Although this may not be the actual title of the bit, the name says it all. Dee goes to a location (usually a formal restaurant) and sets off a fart machine at the most awkward moments and describes people's reactions to listeners. He even excuses himself to the restroom, only to return making the same foul-sounding sounds.
  • "Mental Challenge" - By using the process of elimination, an on-air talent (usually Kim, Taint, or Dee) asks a group of callers (at least one is actually "mentally challenged") different questions to weed out the real "mentally challenged" person.
  • "The Best of Kim" - A compilation put together that consists of Kim's screams, shrieks, and scares when Lex or Terry uses an airhorn at random times during the show.
  • "iPod Punishment" - Members of the staff sing a random song from an iPod karaoke style. Only the singer can hear the song, and hilarity ensures when their singing is just plain awful. Case in point: Kim. Punishment is given for showing up late to work, screwing up a bit, or being caught in a lie.
  • "Black Like Taint" – Taint goes out and speaks "ebonics" with the help of Dee. Lex and Terry present a situation and have Dee translate and then have Taint act it out. Black like Kim has also been suggested.
  • "Roast" – They make fun of one of the staff memebers for 10-20 minutes in the typical roast style where Sam Kouvaris is the host. The bit is up in the air although many fans deemed Dee's roast successful.
  • "Happy Birthday Bitch" - A spinoff of Drunk Bitch Friday, a female listener of the show is invited into the studio to celebrate her birthday in whatever manner she deems acceptable. Ladies are able to request certain foodstuffs and entertainment. The only prerequisites are this: the actual birthday must fall when the show airs, the "bitch" must bring a female friend, and they must be 18 or over.
  • "Best of Shows" - The show is broadcast live every weekday, but when the hosts are on vacation, or unavailable to host the show, various events in the show's past are aired. As a general rule, the show's producer decides what material is in a best of, but Lex and Terry have strung together best of shows on a couple occasions. This show is not available on Podcast.

Terry Jaymes at one time had a small recurring role on the soap opera "Santa Barbara".

Numerous aspects of the duo's lives have become well known throughout the years. Not all of the events are exactly as they seem. For example, Terry's Uncle George never actually molested him during a fishing trip. Over the years the segment of Lex, Terry, and Sam making a joke about the situation has caused "Uncle George" to become a running gag.

Lex is not immune to these sorts of situations. When his mother passed away, Lex discovered pornographic pictures of her. While cleaning out her house, he found photos that weren't (according to Lex) "old pictures" but, "new pictures of old people." Lex's admission of finding and looking at these photos is now considered a classic, and is often referenced on the show.
