Lev Kassil

Lev Kassil (Russian: Лев Кассиль) (1905 - 1970) was a Russian writer. In his novels and short stories, Lev Kassil, wrote about contemporary Russian and Soviet life, about teenagers and their world, about school, sports, cultural life and the war.
His books are often "development novels" describing how young people could, despite of their mistakes, reach a mature view of life. Modesty, unselfishness, endurance and courage were dear to Kassil.
