Leto Senior High School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Leto Senior High School in Tampa, Florida opened in 1965. It was named in honor of educator Ateo Phillip Leto, who was originally to serve as the school's first principal but died before the school year began. Leto opened with only grades with 9-11 in 1965 and did not graduate a class until 1967. The mascot of the Falcons, as well as the schools colors and other traditions were all originally started by the class of 1967. Many district administrators agree that Leto's teachers and staff are some of the best in Hillsborough County. Many also feel that if Ateo Leto was still alive today, he would be very proud of the school built in his name.
