[edit] Copyright photos

Lesliestng, I noticed you've recently uploaded a couple of images Image:Jayasuriya.JPG and Image:8345 lara100.jpg. Generally, the sources of the photos you've quoted do not permit copying and use of their images without express permission. Wikipedia is left open to potential legal ramifications if we use copyrighted photos without permission. Are you sure that you have permission to use these? If not, they will need to be removed from the articles Sanath Jayasuriya and Brian Lara.

If you need any help or further explanation, feel free to post a question on my talk page. Else, see Copyright infringement.

Thanks also for you article editing. You may wish to consider joining up to the WP:Cricket project. Anyone with an interest in cricket is welcome to join - just add your name to the participants list. The talk page has a to-do list and a fairly active discussion on current editing issues. Recently updated cricket articles are also highlighted.

Regards and good luck -- Iantalk 02:22, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

Leslie. I will remove the photos from the articles in that case. Don't feel bad - I did the same thing when I first started here - it is very confusing at first, and it also seems a bit unfair and excessively cautious, but after a while you do see the purpose of it all.
A couple of tips: when you post a message to a users talk page, sign it by typing 4 tildes (~~~~). This leaves your user name and a date/time stamp as your "signature" which helps others know who typed the message. Also, when adding a new comment to a users talk page, click on the "+" tab at the top (next to "edit this page"). This adds a new ==section== at the bottom of the page. You can practise these on your own talk page or user page. Good luck Iantalk 03:12, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Towns in Tamil Nadu

Hi, I am from originally from Chennai. I didn't even know that a town Nazareth existed in TN. For suggestions and guidelines about writing an article related to an Indian city, you could check out the Wikiproject Indian Cities. You are welcome to join the project. Chennai is a great example for reference. I don't have any pictures of the district. I will look for some when I get a chance. I am attaching some India related links that may interest you. Where are you from? How come this town is of interest to you. Just curious :) - Ganeshk (talk) 21:28, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Hey. Though I grew up in Sholavandan, a village near Madurai, my native place is Ettayapuram in Thoothukkudi district! And I visit there 3-4 times a year. See commons:category:Ettayapuram for some of my pictures. However, I've never been to Nazareth. Will try to get some pictures if possible. All the best and continue your good work. You could also consider contributing to Tamil Wikipedia. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 06:16, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alvin Kallicharan

Hi Lesliestng, I noticed you created the above page. But the cricketer article was already there and merged by Muchness (talk contribs) into Alvin Kallicharran. Suggestions: 1) Do a search by the first or the last name and see if the article exists already. 2) Create new article stubs by selecting them from {{WP Cricket ODI bios}} or {{WP_Cricket_Test_bios}}. Select any team over there. All the red links need articles. You can find this template on the project page. I have been working on the red links in List of Indian ODI cricketers.- Ganeshk (talk) 20:14, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestion

You could use this userbox template, {{User WikiProject Cricket}}. - Ganeshk (talk) 00:51, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! will do. Lesliestng 18:03, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
