The album got gold certification in Canada for over 50,000 copies sold and received Félix Award for Best Selling Album of the Year. "Mon Ami M'A Quittée" (first single) topped the Québec charts for 9 weeks. "Ne Me Plaignez Pas" (second single) was an adaptation of "Please Don't Sympathise" originally recorded by Sheena Easton - Eddy Marnay wrote French lyrics.

In October 1983 Céline released in France her first album called Du Soleil au Coeur with the same cover picture as Les Chemins de Ma Maison. It also contained 6 songs from the latter (1, 3, 6, 8, 9 & 10).
