[edit] Who is Leos Klein?

Leos Klein is a character of the mecha action-shooter Armored Core 2. He is the main boss who in the story line planned to form an uprising in the so far fantastical setting of a terraformed Mars. In the story, he is the leader of the Frightners1 and wishes to overthrow the corporate powers that are responsible for countless occurrences of strife and the lives lost to war. Klein believed if he overthrew the Martian government that he could create a state soley under the control of the Ravens, in his eyes a common Eden. His methods are considered unorthodox in the story, as he uses an acient alien technology he finds on the planet to force the corporations into a corner. Because the player is the pawn of the corporations, the player disturbs Klein's attempts to realize his dream. Insanely in a last ditch effort, Klein activates an alien control system inside Phobos to shift its orbit in a manner so it would collide with the surface of Mars. The player defeats Klein and in understanding of his wrongs Klein destroys Phobos before it impacts Mars, preventing the loss of countless lives, with him on it.

His character is dramatic in a sense.

Frightners: An organization of ex-Raven mercanaries who have decded to combat the corporations head on instead of doing missions for them as pawns.

[edit] Potential Symbolism and Allusion of the Character of Leos Klien

In Leos Klein's actions he follows the general path of many revolutionaries. Additionaly through his name, Klein, and the blue shade of his Armored Core Mecha (international klein blue in base color), Klein's character seem to also allude to Yves Klein, an artist who "between the years 1948 to 1952 traveled to Italy, Great Britain, Spain, and Japan." If so, these are both rather impressive yet probably overlooked details in a video game character. This adds an interesting allure to the games story.
