Leon Knopoff

Leon Knopoff (1925-) is one of the most prominent contemporary geophysicists. He received his eductaion at Caltech, and after holding several academic positions, moved to UCLA. He is primarily known for setting a mathemathical equation to seismic activity. He is a member of the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
